Good grief, that's all anybody talks about these days.
:-D
In the video, Michael Yon talks about the fact that recently Sadr has formed the “golden force” (something like that) that is trying to take out rogue JAM militias. I had not heard that at all, has anyone else? That is quite significant, I think.
Are you still in the States, or have you gone back over?
Well, is there more peace and and calm these days?
You’re one funny chick. Where do you live that you end up with such a sense of humor? ;-)
You are the BEST. Any talk about Pakistan over there? Seems to me that they could really throw a wrench into any plans to take Iran threat out.
We need to leave.. It is a quagmire...
At least you aren't near all the screaming and yelling this time around......
Looks like Bush and Crew want to knock off Musharraf (my theory only, remember you heard it here first) to replace him with Ivy Leaguer Benazir Bhutto (the Chi O's all thought she was so kewl), and may wind up pushing the Paks over the cliff. In which case, Afghanistan goes onto the hot seat as their logistical tail suddenly vaporizes.
And the Russians and Chinese are trying so hard to make us feel welcome elsewhere in Central Asia. Aren't friends great?
My cousin's boy is finishing sonar school in San Diego, just got his ship -- a Norfolk tin can. Man, am I glad he won't be pulling PACFLT (and Fifth Fleet) duty. (The Fifth Fleet is, as the numeral suggests, basically a West Coast fleet -- it used to be the PACFLT's operational hat when Adm. Spruance had the conn, and became the Third Fleet with a complete change of task designators and call signs when Bull Halsey hoisted his flag -- confused the hell out of the Japanese, whom traffic analysis was telling we had 1800 ships or something in the Pacific, lol.)
Of course, out of Norfolk, he'll be eligible for rotation to the Med, and they sometimes reinforce via Suez. But his type (FF) doesn't accompany the big ships in "nonpermissive environments", since they aren't Aegis ships. When the big amphibs carrying MEU's that the single-screw FF's ordinarily escort deploy to your area, they drop off the FF's and join a CBG which is escorted by Aegis cruisers and DDG's.
Gonna be shakin' pretty soon around you, just not right in your yard. Stay inside and wear lots of sunblock, lol, and stay tuned to Commie News Network.
