I was looking at a not-so-good old globe of mine for something equatorial and it seemed to match DR and PR, but when I started getting some space shots I ruled that out.
Good job!!

I don't know if those of us who wasted up to two hours of our lives on this should be proud of our determination or ashamed of our psychopathology.
Either way, I'm gonna sleep like a baby tonight.

Can anyone tell me what camera took it at what ISO and F-stop? Those are fantastic images. That camera has to be stopped up there to get that kind of constant focus level. In space, there is no atmospheric haze, no fuzz -- so you have a lot of leeway to tweak the aperture and shutter to get a humongous depth of field. I don't know the specs for these images, but I'd start at spaceflight.nasa.gov and then navigate to the shuttle, then to the mission. I don't remember whether they provide the EXIF data.

“Anyone know how they came out on that torn solar panel problem on this mission?”<.i> I believe Canaduh sent up an engineer by the name of Red Green with a arm full of duct tape ... it’s fixed and holding fine, aye.

Come on Mal, you know better than that, you KNOW that NASA made those up on a computer screen. Ask Hoagie! LOL

Ask Hoagie! Well...Hoagie believes we go up there....just that NASA is going up there for other than the stated reasons. The shuttle was probably docked with a Martian cruiser to exchange Mars surface "poof dust" samples for cow lips and anuses.

Not to beat a dead horse, but I just went to NASA's website and found
this giant version of the New Zealand photo. It's become my latest desktop wallpaper.
At least some (perhaps all?) of the other pictures above are available in huge dimensions in
NASA's image archive.

Cool!
Years from now, the place will be heavily populated, due to the free advertisement. You know, that little bay, in the lower left corner, looks like a little slice of heaven...

Wow, it just needs a McDonalds! And maybe a Canaduh sticker or two three hundred.

Beautiful pictures.
How foolish men are to think we could even attempt to effect weather on
a planet so large and vast, and untamed. Shame on the Greens.
