If you live in a college area you would know exactly what I mean.

College campuses are places where the rules exist for a pretty good reason. Sure the same 18 year olds in the army can go around armed but they are subject to immense control of their behavior. Young college men are no comparison.

Anybody who turned against Thompson or any candidate based on that position has a narrow view of what is important now. And arming young people on campus is not important compared to what we face as a country.

The 2nd amendment doesn't allow for the blanket banning of weapons due to your opinion concerning the responsibility levels of the citizens in question. The 2nd amendment is a litmus test for me and a lot of others. Fred got this one wrong. Period.

Either fortunately or unfortunately he is still the strongest 2nd amendment advocate of the viable candidates. As such I will support Fred but it sure would be nice to have a candidate that can read the 2nd amendment and support what it actually says. I think a platform of wanting to repeal all unconstitutional gun laws would be a winner.
