A TV is a LUXURY item

True. We've been without one for 30 years. Relying on radio and print media makes us better informed voters, not the other way round. Short infotainment news clips really don't carry the depth to be real news.

I'm not fretting one bit about the latest "strike" in Hollywood. At most, it will affect the single hour of broadcast TV I watch each week. Big deal. Radio and the internet offer all I really need as sources of current information. I don't subscribe to the local fish wrap, but I occasionally see a headline worthy of buying a copy. The paper goes to a good cause afterward...lining the bird cage.

I do have a TV, DVD players and a satellite TV subscription. I'm not on welfare...I pay exorbitant taxes. I would sell all of that before I would ever consider living on the taxpayers tit.
