11 pounds of herb isn’t small potatoes. And violating parole with coke trafficking and conspiracy is not small potatoes. This guy must have some powerful friends. But then, it’s not everybody that loans planes to presidential candidates.
At least he wasn’t selling SUV’s or cigarettes.
“So how is Fred going to fly around now that he has to pay for it. Is there another friend around that owns a plane. Surely all his Hollywood friends own them. Maybe his buddy John Travolta will loan one or two of his from the fleet he owns.”
Fred did pay for his flights. Just paid a discount price like every other candidate does per the FEC rules. I am sure that Fred will have no problem getting to where he needs to go. Martin did the right thing by leaving. It is just a shame that the press has such a problem with something a friend of a candidate did 24 years ago, which has nothing to do with the candidate. But I am sure the press will have no problem with Sandy Burger being on board with Hillary.
I just knew the media was going to demand this. I know he resigned, but if he didn’t I know the heat would have been on Thompson. I knew as soon as this little nugget came from Russert on Meet The Press, the MSM was going to demand his resignation.
Does Thompson even know Travolta? Just because they were both actors doesn’t mean they are friends. Look at Mel Gibson, do you think he’d be flying in a plane with Travolta? My point is made.
Wow! Nobody could see that one coming...
(heavy sarc...)
I think he might have turned in his source, or gave the feds some good info. Reason he moved to TN.

I pretty much expected this, it’s too bad but probably for the best in the long run.
Reminds me of how the left tried to use GWB's past against him days before the election.
Martin has been very successful in a business down here that is highly competative and cut throat. I have a feeling that if he had any illegal activity beyond what is already known, it would already be news (and he wouldn't be as successful as he is). He really should have been upfront and open with Thompson when he went to work on his campaign, IMHO.
