On first glance, rock n roll music isnt very conservative. It doesnt fare much better on second or third glance (or listen), either. Neil Young has a new song called Lets Impeach the President. Last year, the Rolling Stones made news with Sweet Neo Con, another anti-Bush ditty.

As a note, I don't know how Iron Maiden's 'Rime of the Ancient Mariner' made it to the list, which is a song about Samuel Taylor Coleridge's poem "Rhyme of the Ancient Mariner."
Hope it’s okay to excerpt this website.
Or second glance.
Or the third...
Or the fourth...
Or the one after that...
Mark Steyn shot back at that article (and Music in general) a few days ago in honor of Alan Bloom

Especially considering what an America-hating a-hole Bruce Dickinson is. Don't get me wrong, I love their music, but his politics are a bit out there.
I don’t give a flip about his politics, the music makes me quite happy.
I would kinda agree with Mellencamp’s “Small Town,” except... John sings, “I was taught to fear Jesus in a small town.” Uhhh..... What church did he go to!? OR he just doesn’t have a clue about Christianity.
Personally, I like The Right Brothers. www.therightbrothers.com They have great songs like, “I’m in love with Ann Coulter” and “Shut up and Teach” and “Liberals we cant stand” I bought two copies of their CD just to support the cause.
Hit That by the Offspring would be a good one for his list too.
The winds of fortune
Don’t blow the same
She had to get out
And make a change
She had a kid now
But much too young
That baby daddy’s out having fun
He’s saying
I’m on a roll
With all the girls I know
His baby momma
She ain’t so slow
He’s saying
I’m on a roll
With all the girls I know
I know you wanna hit that
I know you wanna hit that, hit that
All the world is gettin’ with, I say
Consequences are a lot, but hey
That’s the way it
That’s the way things go
Hey, hey, hey
What was a family
Is now a shell
We’re raising kids now
Who raise themselves
Sex is a weapon
It’s like a drug
It gets him right into that grave that he just dug
She’s saying
I’m on the run
I’m chasing guys for fun
Her baby daddy
It ain’t his only one
She’s saying
I’m on the run
I’m chasing guys for fun
I know you wanna hit that
I know you wanna hit that, hit that
Everybody’s gettin’ with, I say
Consequences are a lot, but hey
That’s the way it
That’s the way things go
Hey, hey, hey
Well it winds up
Broken up
Really such a shame
But why not
Take a chance
Everything’s a game
And it don’t stop
Hooking up
Nothing’s gonna change
The more he’s trying
The more he’s buying
He says
I’m on a roll
With all the girls I know
His baby momma
Don’t need to know
He’s saying
I’m on a roll
With all the girls I know
I know you wanna hit that
I know you wanna hit that, hit that
All the world is gettin’ with, I say
Consequences are a lot, but hey
That’s the way it
That’s the way things go
From Ten Years After (with apologies to Allen Sherman)
Tax the rich
feed the poor
‘til there are
rich no more
Population keeps on gaining
guys are swimming, guys are sailing
playing baseball, gee that’s better
mother, father, kindly disregard this letter
Hmm..how about the Beatles “I’m the Taxman”?
It’s there at #2.
Cranking song. Blew out my speakers on that one right after we started kicking *ss in Iraq again!
Something I would expect from the NEW fruitcakes who have ruined National Review for the past decade or so.
I remember reading tributes to The Clash in NR back in the 80s. I actually paid to subscribe back then. And it was worth it. Then.
“Revolution” If you go carrying pictures of Chairman Mao / You aint going to make it with anyone anyhow.
The joker laughs on you. John Lennon was a Maoist Communist. He knew what he couldn’t say.
It’s called “I’d Love to Change the World”.
Everywhere it’s freaks and hairies
Dykes and fairies
Tell me where is sanity?
Here's an all American classic.
That song kicks butt. Especially “I’m Going Home,” the recording from Woodstock.

Wait! Why wasn’t I notified my name was being used?
