Yep... I’m the same way with cats. I like em, but they trash my eyes and sinuses. We had an outdoor cat that lived in our garage (he had his own kitty door) for years. The field mice were very afraid...

The cat was spoiled rotten :o)

I love dogs but still haven't replaced the last one that died. Down to one mangy cat with almost no teeth. She's supposed to be white, but crawls up under the truck and gets oil all in her fur.

She does come to meet me every afternoon though.

About the only way is to have somebody hack their way into the database.

When can you do that and what will it cost...

For all those who doubt this man’s integrity, ability and guts.

Quotes from Dale Earnhardt Jr. / Driver, #8 Budweiser Chevrolet:
“There will be so many mixed feelings for me this week. It’s hard to imagine it was 1999 when we made our first Cup start (at Charlotte, May) with this team and with Budweiser. I’m excited about the off-season and jumping right into my new deal, but it’s very, very important for me to end my time with Dale Earnhardt Inc. with integrity and with my head held high. When your career is over and you look back, I think that’s critical: a measure of your character is more important than the number of wins you have. That kind of thing will last longer than any driving career.

“It’s been relatively easy to concentrate and focus so far this season when it was time to pull on the helmet, but it may be much tougher to do that at Homestead. I have so many close friends and people I’ve gone into battle with for nearly a decade, and that type of bond will stay with me forever. The same goes for Budweiser. The people at Anheuser-Busch took a big chance on me when I’d never turned a lap in a Cup race. I’ll never forget that, and we’ve had an amazing run since then. I never thought we’d be here in 2007 with things like four consecutive “Most Popular Driver” awards and having a Daytona 500 trophy with my name on it. Man, those are things I only dreamed about when I was living in a trailer and changing oil at my dad’s dealership. It’s been a helluva great time.

“It’s been a rough year for the team and I’m sure it’s been tough on my fans with everything that has happened. We’ve had such a great team that’s run so strong but has little or nothing to show for it. Whether we go out with a whimper or a bang, we’re going to do it together as a team, running as hard as we can every lap. That’s how we’ve always been, and that feeling of a collective effort is the most important thing. I want to thank everyone who has worked with me at Dale Earnhardt Inc. and sponsors like Budweiser that have supported me for so long. And the fans too - they’ve been great and have helped make me feel like they will be with me through thick or thin.”

Titled "Human Statue of Liberty", this image was taken at Camp Dodge in Iowa during the WW I years and used 18,000 officers and men. Imagine how long it took to line all of these men up just right to get such a picture! Let's all remember and honor our veterans!

This years turkey recipe.....

Ingredients
1 16-pound fresh, free range turkey, rinsed well with cold water and patted dry
Salt and freshly ground black pepper
4 cups homemade chicken stock
For the Roasted Garlic-Sage Butter:
2 sticks unsalted butter, slightly softened
1 head roasted garlic, cloves removed
1 teaspoon kosher salt
1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
3 tablespoons fresh sage, finely chopped
For the Pomegranate-Black Pepper Glaze:
2 cups pomegranate molasses
3 heaping tablespoons Dijon mustard
3 heaping tablespoons prepared horseradish, drained
3/4 teaspoon coarse black pepper
1/4 teaspoon kosher salt
Aired on:

Preparation

Make the Roasted Garlic-Sage Butter: Combine the butter, garlic, salt and pepper in a food processor and process until smooth. Scrape the mixture into a bowl and fold in the sage. The butter can be made 1 day in advance and stored covered in the refrigerator. Bring to room temperature before using.

Make the Pomegranate-Black Pepper Glaze: Whisk together all ingredients and let sit at room temperature for at least 30 minutes before using.
Preheat the oven to 425°F.

Rub the entire turkey, including the cavity with the Roasted Garlic-Sage butter and season well with salt and pepper.
Place the turkey on a rack and place the rack into a large roasting pan. Add 2 cups of chicken stock to the bottom of the pan and transfer to the oven. Roast the turkey for 30 minutes then reduce the heat to 375°. Begin basting (after 30 minutes) with the stock/pan drippings every 15 minutes, adding more stock to the bottom of the pan, if needed. Roast until an instant-read thermometer inserted into the innermost part of the thigh and wing and the thickest part of the breast registers 160 degrees, about 3 1/2-4 hours. Begin brushing with the Pomegranate-Black Pepper Glaze during the last 30 minutes of roasting. Remove the turkey from the oven, brush with more of the glaze and let the turkey rest, loosely tented, for at least 15 minutes before slicing.

We used to have pomegranate trees around here when I was a kid. Haven’t seen one in years.

A friend gave me a few pomegranates awhile back and I put them in the green house to ripen. I tried eating one today and it takes to much work...

They are a lot of work, but they sure are sweet when ripe. Actually they make much better non-lethal weapons. :)

Loose the black helicopters!

I really really want to see NASCAR to tear down and apart the Lowe’s machine(s). I don’t trust that Cheater on top of the toolbox. Something is amiss. I still believe the incident at Sonoma was a ruse. (Throw out something that you are pretty sure will get caught and cast attention on the body instead of the chassis.) I want to see the cross section of the tube steel, the bending moment of the chassis, the expansion and/or contraction characteristics of the frame... I’m convinced that the lying leopard has not changed his spots.

NASTYcar has had every opportunity to scrutinize at any whim.

Four wins in a row shows more about talent than anything else.

IMHO, the NASCAR rulebook (not for public consumption) is a joke upon racing and should be pared down to reasonable safety issues and eliminate competitive equipment issues

"Four wins in a row shows more about talent than anything else."

I totally agree with that. Chad is probably 24/7 crewchief. He said in an interview that he was watching the last Phoenix race to see if there were any points in the race where he could gain an edge in the upcoming race. He does that with every race. I bet he pours over the race notes and knows his cars inside out as well. Jr had a live call in show last night. One question was about testing the HMS car after the Atlanta race. He said they test differently, he goes for speed. They have a checklist that they follow and that's it. IMO it's because HMS knows they have the speed and just test various other parts of the car. Also, he said his hunting trip garnered a 10 point - 130 score buck, a doe and a turkey which they had for dinner.
