Obama Rejects Bill Clinton's Criticism

WASHINGTON (AP) - Barack Obama said Tuesday that former President Clinton was making a leap to compare treatment of his wife in the presidential race to the "swift boat" criticism of John Kerry in 2004. The former president encouraged an audience in Nevada Monday not to let "trivial matters" take away the election from the Democrats as they have in the past. He cited the television ads during the 2004 presidential campaign that questioned Kerry's patriotism and campaign commercials in 2002 suggesting that Sen. Max Cleland, D-Ga. was soft on terrorism.

Both Kerry and Cleland were honored for their service in Vietnam, during which Cleland lost three limbs. Both were defeated after the ads aired.

"I was pretty stunned by that statement," Obama said with a chuckle when asked about the former president's comment in a telephone interview with The Associated Press.

He said that when debating last week whether illegal immigrants should be given driver's licenses, Hillary Rodham Clinton "seemed to contradict what she said previously."

Both Obama and John Edwards have criticized her repeatedly on that score, but Obama said in the interview: "How you would then draw an analogy to distorting somebody's military record is a reach."

So Hillary! needs Big Daddy BJ to come to her defense? How will she do when she has to face the really bad men?

Obama is setting himself up for charges of racism when he ciriticizes America’s first black president so strenuously.

The Clinton campaign is a disaster. If the gop gets a nominee that can unify the party, and runs against amensty for illegals, they democrats will get crushed next year.

Exactly.

She can’t handle this lightweight Obama without shrieking ‘Save me Billy!’ how on earth will she deal with Imindamood4jihad in Iran, or the Dear Leader in North Korea?

I can’t help but laugh at this, and how its playing across the country.

Hillary cannot be happy right now. She has the world’s most renowned perjurer vouching for her credibility. Plus, in having the Sink Emperor come to her defense, she looks weak. LOL...

“to compare treatment of his wife in the presidential race to the “swift boat” criticism of John Kerry in 2004”

Actually, BJ is correct. Both Osama and The Swift Boat Vets were telling the truth. It is BJ and Hitlery that always seem to feel the need, or compulsive urge to LIE.

Good analogy...but looks like the GOP is going to push pro-illegal candidates like Rudy....which will cost the GOP the presidency...as well as the House and Senate

I’m interested to see how Fred’s new adds do in Iowa. I don’t trust Romney one bit, yet in his adds up here in NH/maine he is sounding like you or I would on immigration. If Romney wins Iowa, NH and South Carolina I think the huge leads that Rudy holds in Florida, California, PA evaporate quickly. Romney seems to be smart enough to understand how powerful the immigration is.
