Not only is the fact of Global Warming in doubt, but the fact of human effect on it, and the fact of whether anything can be done about it. They are at least three levels from reality and that seems like thin reason for kicking the economy in the gut.

Has anyone heard from Michael (”State of Fear”) Crichton lately on what’s going on? We need more like him to articulate reason with respect to this pseudoscientific ideology that is taking hold everywhere.

Sen. Barack Obama (D-Ill) told a crowd in Iowa in October "there's going to be some costs, and we can't pretend like there's a free lunch." LOL! Why stop now?

Crichton has done well and need do no more on this. NASA is worthy of further examination since they seem to have their hands in a lot more than manned spaceflight.

heating with wood? I understand folks in Colorado can’t burn wood fires in their fireplaces because it will polute the air. Can you believe it?

Senator James Inhofe (R-Okla.) summed up his opposition to the Lieberman-Warner bill in October. "Senators are going to be asking the American people to pay more for home energy and pay higher prices at the gas pump for no climate benefit. This bill will simply result in real economic pain, for no climate gain," Senator Inhofe, the Ranking Member of the Environment and Public Works Committee, said. That's my Senator.

Socialism. They don't say it openly but you would be talking about taking America in the Venezuelan/Cuban direction. In a free society, the fantasy "global warming" reduction goals cannot be met without state coercion and eliminating individual freedom.
