Alameda police have arrested three male juveniles in connection with the slaying of a 15-year-old girl on Halloween as she gathered with friends at the city's Washington Park.

But it was not immeditaley clear whether one of the boys was the actual shooter.

Ichinkhorloo Bayarsaikhan, who was a junior at Alameda High School, suffered a single gunshot wound to the back in what police said was an attempted robbery. She was pronounced dead a short time later at Highland Hospital in Oakland.

The shooter was among a group of about six boys who confronted Bayarsaikhan and her friends, police said.

The three boys were taken into custody in Oakland on Tuesday morning, when police said they served "multiple" search and arrest warrants in connection with the case.

"We are confident that three that we have arrested were among the group who were at the park that night and were involved in this tragedy," Alameda police Lt. Art Fuentes said.

This is such a senseless crime.

A 15-year-old girl, shot in the back, a botched robbery attempt in a park..

Personally, I don’t care how old or young the perps are, the shooter and his pack of buds deserve the ultimate trip.

Arrests Made In Alameda Teen Slaying

http://www.ktvu.com/news/14524350/detail.html

ALAMEDA — Three juveniles were in custody and a number of search warrants executed throughout Oakland early Tuesday in a major break in the case of the Halloween evening slaying of a 15-year-old girl in an Alameda park.

Alameda Lt. Art Fuentes would not identify any of the three as the actual shooter, but was confident they were part of the gang that confronted the girl and her friends at Upper Washington Park.

“We are confident that three that we have arrested were among the group who were at the park that night and were involved in this tragedy,” he told the Oakland Tribune.

An afternoon press conference was scheduled to release more details.

Ichinkhorloo Bayarsaikhan, a junior at Alameda High School, was gunned down shortly after 10 p.m. on Halloween night in the playground area of Washington Park, located at 799 Central Ave.

Police believe an attempted robbery led to the shooting, which may have been carried out by five to six Asian males who were not acquainted with Bayarsaikhan or a group of 10 friends she was with at the park, according to Fuentes.

A police officer issuing a citation to a driver near the park was confronted by a hysteric teenage girl who said her friend had been shot.

“There was no physical confrontation between the assailants and the victim nor the witnesses other than the gunshot,” he said. “The victim and the witnesses took cover and they for whatever reason left their cover. That’s when the second round of gunfire occurred and that’s when the victim was hit.”

Officers quickly converged on the park and found the 15-year-old girl in the playground area suffering from at least one gunshot wound. She was rushed to Highland Hospital in Oakland where she was pronounced dead.

Police believe the teens got away on foot, then hopped on an AC Transit bus to Oakland before boarding BART. The 12th Street station was shut down for about an hour, but the search turned up empty.

“Everybody is quite shocked at this tragedy,” Fuentes said. “We have committed our full resources to this investigation.”

The Police Department had released two sketches of the suspected shooter and went around the clock with the investigation of the island community’s first murder of the year.

At an emotional news conference Sunday, Uranchimeg Khishigdori, who among with her husband. Bayarsaikhan, brought her family to America from Mongolia just over 3 years ago in search of a better life, wrestled with her emotions and wondered how her daughter could possibly have been murdered while playing with her friends in a quiet Alameda park.

“Iko was my only daughter,” Uranchimeg said. “She was the sweetest child. She always had a smile on her face, happiness surrounded her…She loved life. She shared her dreams with me.”

Uranchimeg said her daughter saw the long hours her immigrant parents worked to provide a good life for their children and promised to someday help.

“She would tell me that someday soon, her father and I would not have to work so hard and long,” the grieving mother said. “She said her goal when she graduated from school was to take care of us, her parents… She used say ‘I will make you happy the rest of your life, dad and mom.’

“But I lost my sweetest daughter. The killer took all her dreams, her wonderful dreams…I wish every family to always stay happy, united and healthy…Never have to feel or go through what I feel now…Never have to lose any of their children.”

A botched robbery? What kind of haul did they expect to get from 15 year old girls playing in the park? Lip gloss and Live Strong bracelets?

I had to think about it for a second. kids these days carry ipods, cell phones and accessories *Bling bling*.

*bling* could have been what got the gangs attention and when the victim refused, well, you know the “rest of the story”.

From the articles, this was a sweet girl from a hard working family, and she was with a group of friends when this happened. The boys didn’t have a car - so they murdered an innocent victim and ‘fled’ by bus.

May her family feel Heavenly comfort and strength - and may those boys pay severely for their crime.

“Why would anyone try to rob a 15 y.o.?”

You have to take into consideration the nature of the “UTES” that inhabit the streets of Oakland. Street crime in the downtown area is bad at times. Clorox Corp. threatened Oakland city govt. a few years ago. They wanted to relocate their corporate headquarters after a VP was severely beaten and robbed in broad daylight. I don’t know what became of that but I will wager the crime around the headquarters dropped for a short time. In another case when I worked there in 80’s thru 90’s a young mother walking her child in a stroller on Broadway had her throat slashed by a local UTE. No rhyme or reason no robbery or words exchanged. She survived. In my office I was aware of several women on the night shift who carried a gun. Again I will wager they didn’t have a CHL. You stayed alert and aware when you walked on the street. It looks like the thugs have figured out the bus schedules

Sort of has an analogy in nature when you dive in waters with Barracuda. Nothing shiny (Bling?) or the predator will rush in and tear your arm off. Nothing personal on “Cudas” part its just what they do.

fe·ral

1. Existing in a wild or untamed state. 2. Having returned to an untamed state from domestication.

2. Of or suggestive of a wild animal; savage: a feral grin.

[From Latin fera, wild animal, from ferus, wild.]

Your definition of feral reminds me of James Carvill. Especially when he gets on a roll.
