These pictures were not taken on school grounds. The MySpace pages aren’t operated from school. What students do when not in school is NONE OF THE SCHOOL’S DAMNED BUSINESS!!!!

Unless of course they were bringing them up, showing them, and handing out the URLs to other students for browsing on the school’s computers.

Sssshhh!!! The nanny stater’s would be most upset if you point out their absurdities. Logic only confuses them. They just care sooo much more than you and me and even their brain dead parents of these students do, don’cha know?
Don’t interrupt the programming in process!!! (/s)

"having real or fake weapons are grounds for discipline" In NoDak, having real weapons is a right of passage. Every middle school boy has the opportunity....

In other words, a teenager hunting with his father, shooting skeet with her mother, participating in a JROTC color guard ceremony with a fake rifle on his shoulder, holding her grandfather’s ceremonial Samurai sword, or holding a knife to help his mother cook dinner, all such pictures taken in the students homes, on a private web site, without any threatening content would be grounds for suspension?
Sue the bastards!

A few timely a$$ whippings and more parental involvement would have deterred Columbine.
Hopefully people will wake-up soon to the feminist, PC BS world we've created.

Hi, Clintonfatigued. :-) I agree with you if the pictures include only weapons, rifles, and money, and there are no threats made against the school.
How odd that the article focused on the weapons and not the drugs. As per the article, they had drugs (I’m assuming the illegal type) in the photos, too. I wonder what school policy is today. If the school has a policy of expelling students convicted of drug possession off school grounds, these students pretty much did themselves in. :-0

Wonder if their flag squad still twirls fake rifles at fotball games
To: Tired of Taxes
For all we know, it could have been baking soda arranged to look like drugs for the pics they were mugging for. And if it’s not during school hours or on school grounds, it’s none of the school’s business.

I have a picture of myself at 11 yrs old in the front yard on Christmas morning with my first .22 rifle. I would’ve been screwed nowadays.
(Funny side note, when I was typing I accidently added a “3” making the caliber .223. That was much, much later on!)

Exceptions are bad things to make laws about.
Yes, it was a tragedy but you can’t restrict everybody’s freedom because of what MIGHT happen. Besides, even if you did, the kids who are going to do this sort of thing will anyway, through the black market.

If this was not done on school time or with school property, and there was no crime commited, then what exactly were the kids disciplined for? I don't get it.
If I were their parent however, there might be some explaining to do.
