Those new 1.3 trillion gallon “water saver” levys will be the death of us.

NOLA needs another flush.

I was in New ORLEANS the first half of April 2006.
I could tell then that the city was about at 40% re-populated.Anyone who was there Pre-Katrina could literally feel this. Official statistics later bore my instincts
out.
It didn’t take long for crime and criminals to re-assert
themselves once the repopulation began.
The “culture” of and for crime that already and always
existed there proved to be more conducive for criminals and crime than the far flung areas like Houston and the rest of the South so many had fled to; there they would have had to deal with a functioning law enforcement and
entrenched populations that wouldn’t have stood for it.
So generally they came back.
And ironically enough, it turns out that the ONLY drop in
the usual crime statistics that defined New Orleans, was DURING that whole period of Katrina, and the aftermath.
And if you’ll remember that coverage DURING Katrina by showboaters like Geraldo, with their Dante-esque depictions of “The Seventh Circle of Hell”, you have to wince and laugh at the same time with the realization that this was really the ONLY time the Media has bothered to play up crime in New Orleans——when it DIDN’T happen!

Stop the rebuilding!
Wait until we know for sure how many will be left.
Maybe we can get by with just getting the few left a couple of Winnebagos.

"It would not surprise me a bit to see the media really start covering just how bad it is in NOLA on January 15, 2008 — the day after the Republican governor takes office."

You understand it well.

Atlanta just indicted nine members of a gang formerly from NOLA for several murders here.

Now, now, we’re just trying to share our brand. Hopefully, they will be convicted and executed (or at least housed for the rest of their miserable lives.

Those fed dollars have been channeled into Demoncrap businesses with services and work only being completed on the books. A well oiled machine of goobermint sponsored money laundering at the state level.

What got buried by the media, but perhaps unintentionally reported at the time, was that the governor and her husband, the real power behind the throne and a longtime Democrat good old boy, and his cronies kept delaying asking for Federal help, a requirement before the Fed can move, while squabbling over who would control the money. Then Senator Mary Landreau said they needed $250 billion, this while emotions were still high and information scarce.

The author shows his true colors with this stupid statement:

Perhaps the most serious blow to New Orleans' ailing criminal justice system is the recent election of former Republican Congressman Bobby Jindal as Lousiana's governor. Mr Jindal has boasted that he will turn New Orleans-which is already profoundly suffering from a lack of public resources-into a model of far right privatisation politics on such issues as education and healthcare.

Yup...I heard there was a run on paper shredder in LA after Katrina. The GOP is just a stooge now that’s been bought off to run things so the Dems aren’t getting bad press from LA and NOLA and hurt themselves nationally come Nov. ‘08.

Hey, thanks but no thanks. We had plenty of that brand already, didn’t need any more. And me, too, on that last. Preferably the “executed” choice.
