Pat Robertson endorses Giuliani
The Politico ^ | November 7, 2007 | Mike Allen

Posted on 11/07/2007 5:51:19 AM PST by rightwingintelligentsia

Pat Robertson, one of the nation's most influential Christian leaders, plans to endorse former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani today, the Politico has learned.

Giuliani has struggled to win support of social conservatives because of his moderate views on abortion and gay rights. But now he has one of the most resonant imprimaturs with Christian voters.

Sen. Sam Brownback (R-Kan.), meanwhile, plans to announce his surprise endorsement of former Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) for president on Wednesday, a campaign official told Politico.

The endorsement is to be announced in Dubuque, Iowa.

The alliance gives McCain — once a front-runner, now struggling — a crucial bridge to social conservatives, an important constituency that has remained suspicious of him despite his opposition to abortion.

He hasn’t been influential with me. This endorsement will keep him from being influential to many.

What a fraud. Either that or a senile old man. What kind of conservative religious leader endorses a pro-abort and pro-gay candidate?

Robertson... obviously fear of Clinton is overriding common sense. Giuliani would be a disaster for social conservatives, and yet they flock to him out of fear. Sad.

As for Brownback endorsing McCain, it isn't social conservatism McCain needs a "bridge" to -- he's in deep doo-doo over immigration, and Brownback isn't going to help there.

Brownback was the favorite of National Right to Life in my opinion.

NRL despised McCain for McCain-Feingold.

I’m surprised at that endorsement.

As for Pat Robertson, he likes to follow the wind and I think his finger feels a Rudy breeze out there.

Does anyone remember that Giuliani was the one who handed the NY Senate seat to Hillary? Think he won't do it again?

Rudy is a Clintoon shill.

Wake up people.

Pat Robertson...has anything he said really mattered since 1988? I grew up in Virginia Beach (my family still lives there and I still live 45 minutes away) and I know of NO Republicans who take the guy seriously - he’s viewed as a crackpot in his own hometown.

Pat Robinson is a RINO and should be purged from the GOP.

About once a year, Robertson makes a fool of himself in public and then two or three days later he renounces it.

I won’t believe it until I hear it from Pat. I think this is a left wing psychological experiment and you are all falling for it.

If I’m wrong, then maybe what they said is true, that Pat has mental problems.

IF this is true, Pat has sold his Christian credentials for 30 pieces of silver!

The news continues to get more disgusting every day!

Bah! to all who don't have the courage of their 'so called' convictions.

I will stand by my belief that Schlafly and Dobson WILL NOT be sold out!
