DFU, been meaning to ask: have you encountered any screening problems, threats, flattened tires, etc in these last couple of weeks?
No problems like that, but interesting you should ask. We had five screenings on my recent East Coast trip. At Dartmouth, a fire drill disrupted the film. At Saint Anselm, the new state of the art equipment had problems, and we had to move to a lounge to show it. At the Metropolitan Republican Club of New York, we could get no sound out of the DVD player. We had to show it through a computer.
And then, two nights ago, for the first time in her 13-year career, talk show host Laurie Roth had equipment trouble during my interview. She had to finish the interview on her phone, rather than the studio equipment that has never before failed.
Good things just seem to happen for the Clintons when they need it. One of the best examples was the good fortune that the last remaining Whitewater witness who could have done them harm, Jim McDougal, died in jail when he was denied his heart medication. That was a lucky break.
I have been trying to view the video for the first time on my normally good computer. Keeps freezing, can’t download.
