Here are a few things Mike Huckabee has said about Immigration in the past. Though I do have some respect for some of Huckabees common sense, even on certain issues of immigration, the following illustrates some comments he has made and positions he has taken that are worth raising an eyebrow over.
I would hope that no matter who we are, or where we are from, that America should always be a place that opens its arms, opens it heart, opens its spirit to people who come because they want the best for their families , -Mike Huckabee [spoken along with Tyson Foods Inc. Chairman and CEO John Tyson, at a noon luncheon of the League of United Latin American Citizens]
Pretty soon, Southern white guys like me may be in the minority, Huckabee said jokingly as the crowd roared in laughter. He told the LULAC delegates that their presence in the states capital city was very important because Arkansas has one of the fastest growing Hispanic populations in the nation. Your gathering is so very significant for our state, Huckabee said. We are delighted to have you.

It has been reported that Mike Huckabee supported benefits for illegals immigrants while he was Governor of Arkansas.
Governor Huckabee never supported benefits for illegal immigrants. In Arkansas, illegal immigrants do not receive welfare benefits or food stamps. Governor Huckabee has always, and will always be supportive of the laws and regulations of the country.
It has also been said that Mike Huckabee was in favor of providing college scholarships for illegal immigrants while he was Governor.
The governor only supported the measure that applied to those who met the academic qualifications and applied for legal citizenship. The measure didn't pass. Governor Huckabee stressed that any student would simply be treated as any other graduate of an Arkansas High School, and not given any special consideration.
Critics say that Governor Huckabee's motives behind opening a Mexican consulate office in Little Rock was to court illegals to come work in Arkansas.
The Mexican consulate provided Arkansas businesses with access to Mexico and opportunities to expand their markets, and would help further ensure that immigrants from Mexico are legal and better able to secure legal documentation. At the same time, the office would open up opportunities for Mexican investors to invest money with Arkansas partners, which would help create more jobs in the state.

Just practicing../s
So basically, you think copy-and-pasting information from a candidate’s ELECTION website is enough to make up for his past record and statements.
Uh-huh. Sure.
Yuckabee quote: I didnt sign the No Amnesty pledge because it was a silly piece of campaign propaganda cooked up by Tancredo. Candidates dont make pledges for each other to sign, and he knows that.-Mike Huckabee August 4, 2007
Huckabee still has not said he’d deport the illegals now here, unless they commit a ‘crime’(shades of Rudy). Since he wanted to give illegals scholarships in AR, he believes children of illegals should be given free education, and he does not believe in separating families, then he is just a fraud on the subject and always has been
This says it ALL!

Attention Values Voters: I will never, ever support your preferred candidate. Besides being a danger to America and in the pocket of Tyson Foods, you’ve got another Jimmy Carter Nanny-Stater on your hands.
The worst of all worlds: a semi-convincing Huckster who’s a born-again Baptist minister while in cahoots with Tyson Foods and who wants us all to go on a diet.
When you create your 3rd Party, please take the Huckster with you, so that we might get back to the business of being conservative Republicans, or at least Conservatives.
I have had a lot of interaction with Huckabee supporters lately... and EVERY time I criticize him I receive a list of positions from Huckabee’s website, and have never heard anyone refute the validity of anything I have quoted. A list of a candidate’s positions from their website is the last thing you check to defend their positions. Does their past actions add up to their current positions? If not, I would trust their prior actions.
I think there are many voters who you call values voters that do not want Huckabee either.
He is a nanny stater and pro illegal panderer.
Seems like a conflict from what he said and what was on his website. I tend to believe what he said at the gathering. If Arkansas has one of the fastest growing Hispanic populations (probably large number of them are illegal) in the nation, conditions must accommodating.
ping, and thanks, politicalmom.
Huckster - ping.
Wait a minute, I’m a values voter, and I do not plan on going third party nor voting for Huckster.
WE do have to come up with a way not to alienate the Hispanic community and enforce are laws as they are written, capitulating is not that way.
To hear McCain say it, he’s always been against amnesty too.
I remmeber Huckabee would not raise his hand to say he would veto Schip. That says alot there too.
So is there anything quoting Huckabee or Hunter as they comment on each other’s positions? It’s hard to tell wandering through this material.
I’ll practice with you, if you don’t mind:
Muerte al estado del nanny!
Huckabee SUPPORTS Amnesty for illegal aliens and Open Borders. If your family values include the well being of YOUR family, you won't support anyone who supports that!!!
Past behavior is an excellent indicator of future behavior.
