Then Israel and Iran will be at war on a full scale basis, with of course the Israeli having the edge on technologies, and air and naval resources to do some real damage to Iran.
But will they go down this path. Would Israel make a first nuclear strike against Iran. Unless the US has given Israel the newest series of deep penetrator bombs, to take out all the underground facilities, I doubt Israel would risk a one shot at nuking above ground facilities and population centers in Iran.
Same reason the US cannot just nuke the boneheads in Iran. World opinion is against anyone nuking population centers.
And without permission of neighbors to fly sustained air missions to Iran, Israel is limited in how much it could really do. We at this site have gone this route, before. The linear distances involved in going around the south of the Arabian peninsula would severly limit just what Israel could do. Despite their limited air refueling capabilities.
I do not think Israel is ready for going at it alone. And you can bet the Iranians would figure out how to get a few Paki atomic bombs to smuggle into major Israeli population centers as an act of revenge.
For all we know, they may already have some nuclear devices smuggled out of Russian for this purpose.
