Macedonia: Clashes 'kill at least eight' ethnic Albanians close to Kosovo

kopje, 7 Nov. (AKI) – At least eight people were killed on Wednesday north of Macedonian capital Skopje as police clashed with armed ethnic Albanians on Sara mountain, bordering Serbia’s breakaway Kosovo province, police spokesman Ivo Kotevski told media.

Kotevski said police swept the mountainous area near the town of Tetovo to root out armed bandits which have lately been operating there. He said eight members of ethnic Albanian armed bands were killed in the villages Brodec, Vesala and Vejce and several houses have been set on fire.
