Simon actually picked Carrie Underwood to win the whole thing at the beginning of the season that she won.
He definitely recognized her talent.
Doesn’t Carrie look so beautiful? Her body is completely different than a few years ago. So sculptured.
Yeah but he tried to steer her away from country music, which he hates. Glad she stayed true to herself.

Right now he’s briefly re-emerged with a handful of new songs, first released to country a couple months ago and a limited tour with his current wife trisha yearwood. When his kids are grown, maybe he’ll return more full time.

I’m in Chicago. At first I thought the TV was programmed that way but the commercials aren’t playing subtitles. It’s annoying.

Simon just doesn’t like country music. It is what it is.
My favorite country singer from the show was actually Josh Gracin, and Simon and he used to go back and forth quite often.
But he does see the profit in it now, hence the light in his eyes when he saw Carrie. LOL.
He actually kind of liked Kellie, her personality that is.
And Bucky, well, IMO Bucky never really was comfortable on that stage or chose the right song throughout the competition. It wasn’t until the finale and Tabacco Road medley that I really noticed him. Too bad he didn’t show that side earlier.
I’m just listening, not watching now.
