Paul Farhi, a radio issues reporter for the Washington Post, hosted "Station Break" a radio/TV Q&A this past Tuesday at washingtonpost.com and the follwoing was posted:

Poster: "Expect Phil Boyce the guy who invented Curtis and Kuby in the morning (on NYC's WABC) to shortly announce that Imus will be replacing Gopher and Parks next on (WABC sister WMAL) Newstalk 630 in DC".

Fahri: As of yesterday, WMAL had no plans for Imus. I'm just sayin'...

What do you all make of this? As far as I know, WMAL has no plans whatsoever to move or eliminate "The Grandy & Andy Morning Show". This talk is disturbing. I do not want Imus in or near WMAL.

Considering WMAL’s an ABC station, I think Imus’s appearance on the station is pretty much inevitable. However, I know there hasn’t been much kind talk about Chris Core, so they may just move Grandy and Andy back to the 9-12 slot and give Core the axe instead.

I have nothing to suggest that such a move would happen (just my guess) but it seems like a realistic possibility.

Imus used to be hilarious on WHK, I used to be in broadcast and fondly remember the broadcasting icons which include Larry Lujack, John Landecker, Bob K. Sirotte, Machine Gun Kelly, Charley Tuna, and when KAAY in Little Rock aired Beaker Steet Theater.

Today, Imus is a has been blowhard.

It's still called ABC Radio Networks, just now it's owned by Citadel instead of Disney. And either way, WABC and WMAL are both owned by the same company be it Citadel or ABC and if they're going to syndicate it as they said they were, then one has to believe that WMAL is one of the first places they're going to put it. It's the same process they did when they syndicated John Batchelor and Mark Levin-- first WABC, then a few sister stations like WMAL and WBAP, and finally a nationwide launch.

Media Matters, the organization set up to make Hillary president, is the one who started his problems by reporting and making a big deal of his comments. He had been making comments like that for two decades. Hillary wanted him gone. He would never have her on his show, and I think made comments about her being demonic (or similar).

Imus wouldn’t fit in with Grandy and Andy’s audience. I don’t think he would pick up additional listeners. I enjoy Fred and Andy and the local spin that they deliver.

That being said; no one ever accused WMAL of being particularly smart in it’s programming.

I just caught a bit of the new WTOP this evening (W3P) and it was like hopped-up crack for pinkos. It was horrible! The moderator Randi Rhoades went on and on with her guest Naomi Kline about their complete and utter hatred for the president. They casually stated how we are living under a regime that is comparable to Stalin and Hitler and that Americans were simply “disappearing” on a regular basis (while offering no direct examples).

I was nearly apoplectic after 15 minutes. I callede the station to complain about this absolute crap. This new format isn’t going to have any legs - is it??
