SYLVESTER (voice-over): The Senate voted overwhelmingly 95-1 to spend $3 billion on border security. Money to pay for, among other things, 700 miles of fencing, 5,000 more full-time border patrol agents, and more detention beds for illegal aliens. The funding was included in an amendment to the Defense Appropriations Bill, but in conference committee a select few senators dropped the measure, sparking Republican outrage.
SEN. JOHN CORNYN (R), TEXAS: This would pass overwhelmingly on a bipartisan basis in the light of day, but once you get behind closed doors in smoke-filled rooms, then people begin to play political games by pulling it out.

You know, I have YET to encounter someone who stayed home last year.
The folks I talk to all did the crawl-across-broken-glass thing and voted the same way I did: held my nose, closed my eyes, winced, turned my head, and voted straight GOP.

I disagree. I believe we owe the loss in ‘06 to the lack of leadership in the previous Republican controlled Congress. There really wasn’t any.
The incessant negative rhetoric of the Leftist Democrats within that Congress aided and abetted by their allied forces within the MSM created the desired confusion the Leftists wanted, and needed to win the majority. They did not win the large majority they believed they would which tells us some sanity prevailed within the confused by design electorate.
We now have had almost a year of the Leftist Democrats in office making fools of themselves, thus making fools of many whom voted for the change. People don’t like being made fools of by anybody, much less by fools.
The GOP has at least two excellent Conservative candidates with strength of character, and America’s interests at heart. They recognize their positions as Representatives of the people, thus this Nation, not as the ideologic Global Socialist overlords the Leftists advocate.
The Democrats failures leading this Congress haven’t gone unnoticed. The flames of confusion continue to be ignited and fanned by the Socialist/Democrats and their allies in the MSM, but the electorate is saying fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me.
America isn’t Left, America is confused by allied Leftist design. We can overcome this confusion with the right Conservative Candidate and a campaign that tells the electorate precisely what is at stake. Tell it like it is.
