Thompson has to actually get on the ballot to win in Virginia. I haven’t actually seen a Thompson petition yet, except the one he sent me unsolicited in the mail with the request to “get my friends to sign”. I can’t sign that one, the rules require a second voter to collect signatures.
I do hope someone is out collecting Thompson signatures somewhere. I might take his sheet out this weekend, in case I run into any Thompson supporters while collecting Romney signatures. When I was collecting signatures on Tuesday, nobody was a Thompson supporter, but mostly because they said they knew nothing about him.
He hasn’t really introduced himself to our state. Frankly, Romney hasn’t either, most didn’t know about him, and were supporting either Rudy, McCain, or Huckabee. (I think they were mostly baptists).
He’s been very good, but has a black mark in supporting an NRA-backed assualt weapons ban in Mass. (which apparently stopped a much harsher one). He might also agree with Bush on re-signing the current federal AWB, although since the dems control congress and Bush supports it, I would guess that AWB will be renewed for another 10 years before the next President takes office.
WHile I support Romney, a Thompson/Romney ticket would be OK with me.
GO MITT GO!
Another n00b for mitt...yawnnnn!
Not happy about the AWB. However right now, its ABH = ANYBODY BUT HILLARY in the general elections.
It’s no fair! Mitt’s been spending lots of money, so I’m unimpressed. (sarcasm intended)
Oh.....wait.......that’s right........Mitt has lots of money, raised lots of money, and that’s how the advertising game is played - by spending money!!!
Sorry, I just needed to remind - um, myself - that spending lots of money on advertising, and seeing positive poll results by doing so, is how you WIN! What is with this new criticism that there is something wrong with spending money to win? Sheesh!
So much for the myth Huckabee is nipping at Mitt’s heels in Iowa.
Romney = business leader and family man. What America needs!
Business + traditional family values makes America strong.
Go Mitt Go!!
That actually is a good idea, in that my issue with Romney is I am not confident he is what he now claims to be.
A good 8 years in the public eye would resolve that.
Welcome to FreeRepublic!
Although I am not sure if all of you liberals signing up to cheer for Romney or Rudy is a good thing or not.
Great work, Spiff! I am extremely encouraged at seeing Mitt’s slow but steady progression up, up, up!!!
Liberal? Was that an attempt at humor?
