Whoa! This is from the New York Times?!

Yeah. That is the real WOW I take away from this. I had actually read about this interview somewhere else yesterday. But the fact that the NYT decided to do a story and, even more of a head-scratcher, decided to give it this headline, is the real news.

“Murder victims are down 80 percent from where they were at the peak,” and attacks involving improvised bombs are down 70 percent, he said.

The NY Slimes does not actually deserve any credit for finally reporting a bit of all the positive news out of Iraq because the BURIED this on A19. This is just a little soporific insurance policy for these charlatans, so that forever after when anyone criticizes them for ignoring positive news from Iraq they can cite this one story to say they have "reported" on the matter. Of course, it cannot begin to weight against the zillions of front-page hit jobs they have done for years and will continue to do for as long as their fishwrap is still published..... or at least for as long as bozos like Pinch Sulzberger and Bill Keller run the show.

Why would the NYT do a flip on US winning the Iraq war?

Look at Nacy Pelosi's new move to set a withdrawal of troops date!

The NYT aricle is in support of Pelosi, "we have won, so its time to bring the troops home!" Nice touch for the Xmas season.

Pelosi's job is to hang the withdrawal on President Bush, because they think Hitlery is going to be president, and Hitlery wants it over when she supposedly becomes president.

Well, we know that ho won't go!

We will be in Iraq for 20 to 40 years. Just like we had to be in Europe until the Sovietskis stood down.
