I’ve tried sewing on Zippers...forget it! I sew only simple, simple patterns. I love to go to the second-hand thrifty shops and find old patterns. Those patterns are becoming rare though!

Mr.FF is much better at the sewing machine than I could ever be. Now there's something I can't do. I just know how to sew by hand. Formerly running a chain of clothing stores helped there. I can even use a flat-bed steam press and not scorch a pair of trou!
To: sofaman
I doubt Mr.FF knows what cornices or jabots are, but I do know he’s conversant about “valances” and possibly “swags.”

I am lucky...I actually like to cook and he doesn’t so it’s a really good deal. About the only thing my hubby likes to make is challah, which he doesn’t do as often as he used to.
