"Ron Paul is a media darling with little actual support."

LOLOLOL!! You've got it backwards. He's got a lot of support, contrary to what the media (who seems to have our choices already picked out for us) is telling you.

Do you ever go to other sites other than FR? And btw, his supporters online raised over 4.2 million dollars in one day, for Ron Paul, from over 36,000 people, the average donation being 103 dollars. And these are a very determined and passionate supporters, who are planning more fundraisers. Whenever I turn on the MSM, all I hear about is the "front runners", I rarely hear Paul mentioned. If he is now starting to get a bit more media coverage, it's only because they can't continue to ignore or downplay him, as they were.

“there is not a shred of proof to support the notion that they are”

Of course there is, they are the only two Republican candidates not under constant attack by the MSM...

You need to pay closer attention.

Well, this is the same media that gives us George Will, Robert Novak, and Pat Buchanan as their token “conservatives”, why wouldn’t they have equally fake “Republicans” as their favorites?

A media darling?

Please. CNN crops photos to exclude a mass of Ron Paul supporters. A Fox producer instructs a cameraman to get B-roll film but not to film any of the Ron Paul supporters.

How is that “darling?”

Rudy’s liberal social stances are already sinking him. That’s why he can’t get above 30% support among “republicans.”

Paul’s anti-war anti-national security stance is sinking him. He can’t get above 5% support among “republicans.”

Yet you think either of these candidates can defeat Hillary without more the half of the “republican” voters?

How? Show me the math that allows either of these candidates to beat Hillary? The same numbers that put Bill in the WH in ‘92 and ‘96, with less than half of the popular vote, CAN put Hillary in the WH in ‘08.

Democrats and their press is smart enough to know that. Too bad many republicans aren’t.

His supporters are almost all from the left, not the right. He’s raising money now, but from people not registered (currently) to vote in the Republican primary. They will have to change party affiliations in many states in order to vote for him in the primary.

That means the Republican nominee can be chosen by leftist Democrats angry with Hillary for being right of Paul on the war???

Use your head!

‘Dark horse candidate Ron Paul is fast becoming the media darling of the same leftist press that has been pushing Rudy Giuliani for President since 2001.’

The author has a bad case of ‘I hate Rudy’ if he actually believes the above statement.

The leftist press, until this year, has been pushing John McCain, not Guiliani, for not only the time frame cited, but before it, since the late 1990’s.

(btw, I won’t vote for Guiliani under any circumstances, I’m not a Rudy supporter. I do however pay attention to politics)

You are correct.

Anybody remember the last “Pro-Choice” Republican nominee to run for President, and what the results were?

Rudy has been the media darling since 9/11... Hard to miss that, no matter who you support.

But I have found that Ron Paul supporters seem to miss more than most...

I think his performance on 9/11 warrants the attention the MSM gave him. He did a good job leading his city that day, and for weeks afterwards in my opinion, excluding his suggestion he remain mayor a bit longer, rather than turn it over to Bloomberg. That was over the top, to say the least.

If the scenario is Rudy vs. Hillary, a lot of liberals (obviously) are going to vote for Giuliani, not to mention RINOs and the like.

Giuliani at least has substance. We don't agree with much of his positions, but at least he's got a tangible history to run on. At some point Hillary is going to have to show some substance too, or else she's screwed, IMO.

Hilarious to watch the rewrite of history here, obviously not exclusive to the left.

I agree, Rudy has earned a certain amount of positive press coverage. But there is no doubt, no matter how you research it, that Rudy has been the republican favored in the press and for the very reasons stated here and in the column.

Paul was largely ignored as a “no chance” candidate, until he started grabbing headlines with his anti-republican message from a republican stage, which of course the leftist press is eating up.

He’s validating every negative thing the left has ever said about Bush, the war on terror, our foreign policy, even our troops and certainly Iraq. Like the column says, he’s a liberal dream and a republican nightmare. His money is coming from the left, not the right... That alone should bother republicans.

This should bother them even more...

http://www.primarilypaul.com/ron-paul-in-the-primaries/

This should be illegal! Liberals picking the republican nominee??? This should be enough to send any honest conservative running from the Paul campaign with nothing else said...

What are these people thinking???

“Duncan Hunter has no media support and almost no popular support.”

Myabe not among “150 random Americans,” but I’m sure Hunter has lots of support among the conservative politically educated. His message needs to get out there and more will be converted.

“Giuliani is also the darling at Fox News.”

Hannity tried to defend Rudy as pro-life the other night, after the Robertson endorsement (BLECH)

Hillary is VERY likely to implode as the campaigns heat up. If she does, I look for Al Gore to charge in on silver steed.

If that happens, and worse, a Gore/Obama ticket emerges, republicans will have an almost impossible situation on their hands.

Republicans have NEVER won with leftist candidates. Bush would not have won if he had run on the liberal policies he has governed on since winning.
