You’re kidding yourself here...

I like Hunter, but I’m nearly alone...

‘But there is no doubt, no matter how you research it, that Rudy has been the republican favored in the press and for the very reasons stated here and in the column.’

I disagree completely. Rudy wasn’t the liberal media darling until McCain reaffirmed his support for the war with Iraq.

"His supporters are almost all from the left, not the right."

I'm sorry, but that is just plain false. He does have a diverse group of supporters, but the overwhelming majority of them are pro-constitution/small government, fiscally conservative, liberty-loving people of all ages who love this country and are sick and tired of the status quo. They're tired of politicians on either side who are big-government, anti-constitution, open borders globalists. From what I've seen, his supporters include conservatives who left the GOP long ago, independents, libertarians, and also a lot of young people who have never voted before or participated in political activism.

Yes, there are some Democrats disillusioned with their party who support him because of his position on the war, but most of the lefties won't support him, because everything else that he stands for is diametrically opposed to what they believe in. He's for small government, getting rid of all sorts of departments, and he talks about self-reliance... these are all things that go against their philosophy. Plus he's strongly pro-2nd amendment and pro-life, and especially the abortion issue is very important to them.

I have been around a lot of his supporters. I'm sorry, but they're not "all leftists" - it's quite the opposite. And btw, if it were to come down to a race between Hillary and Paul, I have no doubt he would win.

If if comes down to Hillary vs Giuliani, I'm not as confident. I think it will be very bad news for the GOP, if Giuliani gets the nomination.

One more major BOOM! on U.S. soil, on all your other issues will vanish from radar... Get national security wrong (like Paul has) and you will not have the luxury of worrying about petty spending problems... Write that down and read it over and over until it sinks in...

If your mind just can’t absorb this, seek mental help!

This is very possible: Hillary is VERY likely to implode as the campaigns heat up. If she does, I look for Al Gore to charge in on silver steed...
What to do if we face a Gore/Obama ticket?

You can diagree till the cows come home, or until you research the coverage of the two, which ever you try first.

Rudy (rightfully to a degree) earned positive press for his handling of 9/11 and even some of what he did to make NYC a better place to live and work. The media hype about him running for President started way back in 2001 and he has always enjoyed very favorable press coverage and support for a WH bid ever since.

I can’t help that you somehow missed this news flash?

You need to research where his money is coming from a bit closer.

He ranks in the top three of candidates Americans would NEVER vote for at 47%, right behind Kookoocinich at 49% and Hillary at 50%.

He has never gotten above 5% support from the right. Even his old congressional aides are now denouncing him as a leftwing nut.

If you were any good at research or reason, nobody would have to point any of this out. But I suspect that no matter how many times its pointed out, you will still miss the message.

If he has all that “right” support, why is his campaign telling his financial supporters to switch parties to vote in the Republican primary?

We had better be running a real conservative alternative who will unite and motivate all republican voters, that’s what...

This guy needs to CHECK HIS PREMISES.

The leftist press HATES Rudy. Just check the Village Voice, the Nation, TNR.

Those you name are hardly the mainstream of the leftist press...

Those you name hate all who support strong national defense. How do they feel about Ron Paul? I seem to remember some positive coverage of Paul over at the Nation recently, no?

I watched the coverage, so I don’t feel the need to research it.

Well that’s two of us.

I just truly believe though that in a general election - electability is tied to the message of the candidate.

The Dems are all the same in their message. So the Republicans NEED to nominate a candidate completely different - anything less will only shave off the Republican vote.

Voters must be given a balck & white decision.

I really believe that if Hunter did get that nod, his numbers would instantly rise to 50% or more.

I would be much more confident on a Rebublican victory in 08 with a Hunter nomination than Rudy, et al.

Don’t forget: Mike Huckabee, media darling. The MSM has worked overtime to make him palatable, despite his history as a slave-labor pimp for Tyson.

Don’t know about The Nation and Paul as I don’t read the rag, I just catch articles that are posted here. If there was one, I missed it, sorry.

I just posted the first three pubs that came to my head. The NYT is no different. They savaged Rudy throughout his mayoral career. They still hate him and want to destroy his candidacy. The broadcast media, Chris Matthews etc are the same story.

The knives have been out for Rudy, Fred, and all GOP candidates perceived as having a chance. If the press has been kind to Paul it’s because he has been seen as a crazy uncle with no chance of winning, one who the GOP wishes would go away.

Me too. The MSM seems to be blacklisting Hunter which, to me, means they fear him. In my book Hunter’s da man and he would show Hillary up for the phony she is in a New York minute. Maybe that’s why the MSM are skeered of him.

“I don’t feel the need to research it.”

and that’s how one gets to be a Ron Paul supporter, and that’s why America continues to vote itself into disaster after disaster...

Too many experts, too little honest research.

Thanks for making my case.

a Gore/Obama ticket emerges

Obama just made a point recently that the next administration should be his generation, not Hillary's, Gore's, Edwards', etc.

Therefore, if this situation were to happen and Obama got on board with Gore, I wonder if the media would point out the blatant hypocrisy? /sarc

PS: Did Obama not realize by saying what he said, that he pretty much has to pick a VP who is around his age or younger? That really has its limitations. Otherwise he's doing exactly the opposite of what he said he'd do.

‘and that’s how one gets to be a Ron Paul supporter,’

ROTFLMAO!

The problem when you ‘guess’ about a poster is its more likely you’ll look ridiculous, as you do with this assertion.

Ask one of the Ron Paul supporters, or just read my tag line....(chuckle)

We’re done.
