Wait until the sheeple understand that the "some action" will mean...
- 55 mph national speed limits
- surtaxes if you drive more than your allotted amount of miles per year
- bans on incandescent bulbs -- mandated CFLs
- waterless urinals, landscape watering restrictions and outright bans on lawn (it takes energy to pump water)
- the interior of your office building at 85F in summer and 67F in winter
- $20 per day to park in your company parking lot (somehow the Marxists must force you into mass transit and carpools)
- everybody forced to buy tiny hybrid cars and the defacto banning of large vehicles via very high surcharges
- revised building codes that reduce the amount of window area allowed in your new home
- ultra-high gasoline tax hikes to discourage consumption
- "allowable driving days" limiting your driving to half the days in the week (patterned after the odd/even gasoline rationing system in the 70s)
- outlawing all forms of recreation that produces lots of CO2 such as motorboating or skiing and snowboarding; financial penalties for recreational travel
How many more can you add to this list? In short, this could lead to totalitarian control of our freedom of movement and complete loss of liberty. The Marxists are too smart to try to impose this entire agenda all at once, but it will be introduced incrementally in the name of "protecting the environment." We are all soon to be frogs in the slowly warming pot of water of tyranny.
Back in the late 70’s I worked with a guy who kept telling me that the rise in gas prices was an attempt to control us and force us not to drive and stay put. It’d be easier to control people that way.
It sounded more whacked out then than it does now.
