1. the incidences were rare, as most units within the Kuwait theater did surrender.

2. Conscript or volunteer is irrelevant - they were uniformed troops under arms who had treated the conquered Kuwaitis brutally.

3. Generally A9 bulldozers were used, not that that matters:

It's armored but it never was a tank.

4. There is no requirement to offer quarter to an enemy in the midst of battle. They could have surrendered before the bulldozers came in, or better yet - left the Kuwaitis the F*** alone.

5. The chain of command would be treasonous if they had required troops to engage with small arms when a simple method was available to eliminate friendly casualtie. Which side was Ron Paul on? (Don't answer that.)

Yours is the most helpful post so far - I remember hearing these stories way back when. Once the battle is engaged, playing nice may get you killed.
