One of the leading opponents of a plan to build Europe's biggest mosque near the London Olympics site has had an "obituary" about him put on YouTube.
The video, "In memory of Councillor Alan Craig", features the politician, who is a member of the Christian Peoples Alliance, his wife and two daughters.
The two-minute video, added by a man calling himself "abdullah1425", is set to the strains of Elvis Presley's song Always On My Mind.
It ends with the message: "The mosque will be built in time for the 2012 Olympic Games."
Mr Craig, a councillor for Canning Town South ward in Newham borough, has upset some Muslim residents in the area with his resistance to plans for a 12,000 capacity "mega-mosque" at Abbey Mills, near West Ham tube station.
It is being proposed by the ultra-orthodox group Tablighi Jamaat, whose previous adherents include Glasgow airport bomber Kafeel Ahmed, shoe bomber Richard Reid and the July 7 bombers Mohammad Sidique Khan and Shehzad Tanweer.
Until yesterday there was a web link from the Abbey Mills mosque website to abdullah1425's YouTube mini website, where he identifies himself as Muhammad, 23, from Stevenage, Herts. Yesterday Mr Craig said he refused to be intimidated by the clip, which he described as "an open invitation to take me out".
He said: "It's either a sick joke or it's worse. Even if I don't worry about myself, to put my wife and two young children on there is particularly sick."
Mr Craig said he had no problem with Muslims, but did object to Tablighi Jamaat's plan on the grounds of its alleged terror links.
In 2003 Michael Heimbach, the deputy chief of the FBI's international terrorism section, was quoted in the New York Times as saying: "We found that al-Qa'eda used them for recruiting, now and in the past."
A French counter-terrorism official has also called it the "antechamber of fundamentalism", claiming it acted as a stepping stone to more extremist action.
But the group, which began in India in 1927 and is heavily influenced by the puritanical Wahhabist movement, denies any involvement in terrorism.
According to the Abbey Mills mosque website it is a peaceful, apolitical movement that aims to "bring spiritual awareness to the world's Muslims, promote good morals, social integration and cultural exchange with other communities in the light of Islamic teachings".
A spokesman for the mosque bid said its trustees were unaware the "obituary" clip was on abdullah1425's YouTube site, and they were "very annoyed" about it. He said: "We are not responsible for the content of external websites. We totally condemn anyone who incites violence."
A Metropolitan Police spokesman said a complaint had been made about the video.
That is really frightening, and unless the Islamofascists are stopped, we’re going to see more and more of it.
Evil grow more bold when it is either appeased or not resisted. Case in point right here.
England had no problem tracking down and killing Irish terrorists. Now they are allowing their country to be attacked from within due to PC.
Heads up Limey’s. Round them up, ship them out, kill those that resist!
NY
good preview of the USA in 10 years!
now to add some balance, the following came in an unattributed email this week:
Can a Muslim be a Muslim-American?
Here is an eye opener to start off your day... Can a
Muslim be a Muslim-American? Have you ever thought
— Is Muslim-American really an oxymoron? Can a
devout Muslim be an American patriot and a loyal
citizen?
I forwarded that question to someone who worked in
Saudi Arabia for 20 years. The following is his
forwarded reply:
“Theologically, no. Because his allegiance is to
Allah, the moon god of Arabia.
Religiously, no. Because no other religion is
accepted by his Allah except Islam (Quran, 2:256)
Scripturally , no. Because his allegiance is to the
five pillars of Islam and the e Qura n (Koran).
Geographically, no. Because his allegiance is to
Mecca, to which he turns in prayer five times a day.
Socially, no. Because his allegiance to Islam
forbids him to make friends with Christians or Jews.
Politically, no. Because he must submit to the
mullah (spiritual leaders), who teach annihilation
of Israel and destruction of America, the great
Satan.
Domestically, no. Because he is instructed to marry
four women and beat and scourge his wife when she
disobeys him (Quran 4:34).
Intellectually, no. Because he cannot accept the
American Constitution since it is based on Biblical
principles and he believes the Bible to be corrupt.
Philosophically, no. Because Islam, Muhammad, and
the Quran do not allow freedom of religion and
expression. Democracy and Islam cannot co-exist.
Every Muslim government is either dictatorial or
autocratic.
Spiritually, no. Because when we declare “one
nation under God,” the Christian God is loving and
kind, while Allah is NEVER referred to as heavenly
father, nor is he ever called love in the Quran’s 99
excellent names.”
to which I add
Politically Correct, no. Because the call to prayer 5
times a day is noise pollution and patently obnoxious to most of us.
“...A spokesman for the mosque bid said its trustees were unaware the “obituary” clip...”
Yeah, sure. This group of Muslims in England should all be charged with sedition then deported to - oh! - someplace like Yemen.
In this week's edition of The Wanderer (a Conservative Catholic newspaper), columnist James K. Fitzpatrick wrote an article entitled "The Lion and The Fox". In it, he addressed the defenders of the Khalil Gibran Academy, an international public high school in NYC with a curriculum focused on Arab language and culture. The defenders of the Academy contend that the school does not violate the separation of church and state. The point out that Khalil Gibran was a Christian Lebanese born poet and that the school will not indoctrinate or proselytize Islamic religious beliefs: that is not a madrassa of some sort. Those who make this argument stress that the school will use the same social studies curriculum as the rest of NYC's high schools and that its concentration will be on the Arabic language and international and multicultrual themes. Opponents of the school do not buy the line that the Academy will be "non-politically motivated". One group argues the school will become an under the table way of teaching and preaching Islam on the tax payers dollar. Syndicated columnist Daniel Pipes wrote that the school will inevitably be "laden with pan-Arabist and Islamist baggage."
Here is his column.
