My dad tells a story about when I was about to be born. He asked his next-in-command for a few days off to be with my mom (I was first born). Commander said, “I have 5 kids and I wasn’t there for any of their births.” My dad said, “Sir, that’s the difference between us.”
He got the time... went over the guy’s head.

Hello,
I do not know if there is another picture that grabs my heart and makes me more sad and proud at the same time, than that one.

Indeed, StoneWall. My family comes from Fredericksburg, some still in the area. My dad, his father and grandmother were named for Longstreet. His grandmother’s father fought in one of Longstreet’s regiments.
