NEW YORK - Norman Mailer, the macho prince of American letters who for decades reigned as the country's literary conscience and provocateur with such books as "The Naked and the Dead," died Saturday, his literary executor said. He was 84.

The Naked and the Dead, based on his experiences in the Pacific during the War, was compelling and unique. After that he went downhill. In the end he was an overblown celebrity hack, imho.

I think it should be fitting if he were interred on Prison Grounds for his assist in the murder of a man by the creep he helped get out of Prison.

That way he would do some time he deserved.
