Thanks for posting this article. The Serbs in Yugoslavia were strong American Allies during WWII and I am very sorry that Clinton used our armed forces to bomb your country.

Thank you. I am sorry, too. America is first and foremost my country. I was born here. I cannot begin to tell you how incredibly surreal it is when your country turns against “your country”. When the country you love and live in bombs the country of your heritage. During the NATO bombing campaign of Serbia in 1999 over the Kosovo issue, which, sadly, is now once again an “Issue”, I was put into the very strange position of having to think about where my loyalty would lie should things escalate even further.

I love America. Always have, always will. I only wish that America had remained loyal to the great Ally in the Balkans that had always been loyal to her. I wish I could whisper in George Bush’s ear and say: “The Albanian Kosovars aren’t your friends. The Serbs...Mr. President...The Serbs.”
