Will Clinton's gender help or hurt her? Why has "gender" become the politically correct substitute for the term "sex"? Gender is a term from linguistics that refers to the classification of nouns, pronouns, and their modifiers according to sex, primarily in Romance, Germanic, Slavic, and other languages. Until recently, the term was rarely heard outside of linguistics and foreign language studies.

That's informative and I thank you for it. I have always used it incorrectly and will work on not doing it anymore.

Actually, that's not my understanding of gender. Look it up or google it. Sex is male or female. Gender is masculine or feminine: how one FEELS about their sexuality.
I learned that one from the Equal Rights Amendment here in Iowa. The whole thing about 325 words long revolved around the word gender.
That's what it is all about. Sexual orientation in sheeps clothing.
BEWARE ANY EQUAL RIGHTS AMENDMENTS!!!
