(more likely) knows that having a license will enable those illegals to vote...dem.

Exactly...and he and the dem legislature got rid of voting machines and brought back paper ballots with that in mind...finding "overlooked" ballots in obscure places when elections are close is a NM dem specialty. He and the dem legislature have kept voter ID from becoming law here, also.

The problem is that getting rid of Musharraf doesn’t guarantee that Bhutto will take his place. When there is a power vacuum, anyone can fill it. The Pakistanis are some of the most zealous Muslims in the world. It is no accident that the official name of the country is the Islamic Republic of Pakistan.

Precisely. Benazir Bhutto is just another of those "darlings" of the Western media and elites whose estimates of her popularity greatly exceed the actual support from her own countrymen.

If Musharraf is deposed, I suspect Hamid Gul would be the biggest beneficiary.

I would also add that for most liberals, the consequences of actions don’t matter all that much, either.

Want more health care? Get the government to pay for it. Never mind it will artificially prop up demand and raise prices.

Education too expensive? Subsidize it. Never mind the fact that it will just be eaten up by unions and drive prices even higher.

Don’t like war? Pull out of Iraq. Never mind what will happen in the vacuum.

You get the idea.

And the issue of “global warming” is just a disguised form of crippling capitalism.

Good grief, why can't our government higher-ups try to act like waitresses?

You just cracked me up. I'm trying to imagine John Kerry right now, trying to act like a waitress.

Richardson says he’s “seriously concerned” over Pakistan. But his response is lame at best and reflects someone unclear on the issues and concepts. He goes on to say he would invite Syria and Iran into Iraq and the Surge is not working.

Surely, Richardson cannot be THAT naive? Sorry, he probably is..... he’s a Democrat stuck on stupid.

(Democrats need to update their talking points.)

It is not a matter of fighting but advising. The State Department is just one of the foreign affairs agencies who give the President advice based on its perspective and experience. DOD, CIA, NSC, Justice, Agriculture, Commerce, etc. provide advice as well. And then there are domestic groups that influence policy along with Congress. I think people overestimate the influence of the State Department on the formulation of US foreign policy.

Less than one third of the Americans stationed at our diplomatic missions abroad are State Department employees.

Why a short period of time?

Although I think you’re right...this Buhtto woman has something going on we don’t know about it. Somebody’s paying her, somebody’s sponsoring her.

and I don’t think it’s the people of Pakistan.

We’ve been measuring the failure of Iraq by body counts but we can’t measure the success by the same measure?? They are in a huge Trap when they can’t accept victory.

Pray for W and Our Victorious Troops

formerly a relatively hawkish Democrat who declared the border an emergency in 2005

In order to get Federal Money which he mostly spent on slush fund Democrat special intrests rather then actually doing much of anything about the border. Richardson is a Clintonite and every bit as corrupt as any of the other members of the Clinton crime family.

...Mr Bush delivered a blunt message to Gen Musharraf: "You can't be the president and the head of the military at the same time."

Interesting concept from our President and Commander in Chief.

I would like NM to adopt NY’s Spitzer’s three-tier licensing plan: One for US citizens, one for legal aliens, and one for illegal aliens. Of course, the illegals won’t come out of the woodwork to get a special license identifying them as such so the scheme wouldn’t work. But it would point out the idiocy of giving a whole class of criminals rights and privileges to which they are not entitled.

Well, remember HE is the one that Clinton conned into offering Monica a job at the UN....I think it's not naivete, but his total lack of principle and eagerness to be part of the Clinton clique.

He IS stupid though, can't deny that!

Condi did just what I hoped she would. George asked her about Obama’s plan to provide carrots to Iran and she laid out the entire basket of carrots that we have already offered them.

I guess Obama had not looked into the history of the situation very carefully or he would have been aware of this. Heheheh.
