No, according to our founding documents the intrusion of government into the tax exempt status of churches is not to be trifled with. The org should remain free from government 'oversight', BUT the people working for that org should receive a salary and or bonuses which are subject to taxation because they are earning what they get, presumably and thus in fairness to other working people the taxes should be collected. What Grassley is doing is wrong on many counts but the main wrong is taking an 'oversight' role not authorized by our founding documents.

An example of where law should intervene is the purchasing and paying property taxes for not just the Minister but the family members who get homes through the ministry also (think Joyce Meyer). THAT is something that should not be allowed tax exemption for the receiver of the 'gift'.

At one time no taxes was a good idea but since many of these so called churches are nothing but side shows and the use of TV to further their scams, they are no longer a church but a scam.

Let's hope my grand daughter (Holly_P) doesn't see that reference to Joyce Meyer, we do not want to get her started on that subject.

Yes, I'm talking about another member and not pinging her and don't you do it either.
