Excellent Huckabee Veterans Day Speech
C-Span ^

Posted on 11/11/2007 7:23:54 PM PST by MrArbitrage123

This is quite a moving speech by the most compelling, authentic stateman in the Presidential race.

http://youtube.com/watch?v=5zcdfERGqJU

I'm paypalling Huck a few bucks. He has all the tools to win the nomination and the one most capable of winning the general election.

Yes, I like Duncan Hunter and Tancredo; however, I am realistic about the fact that they would not win the general election. The fact that they are US Congressmen is enough to bring me to that realization. Who was the last congreeman to win the presidency, Abraham Lincoln. He was one compelling speaker from what I've read. Huckabee as a 10-12 year Governor has more executive experience than any of them.

I know that many here say he's too liberal but if you look at the other options who have a chance, Giuliani, Romney or McCain, Hucababee is not so "liberal". Also consider that Huckabee was governor of a VERY Democrat state.

Thompson of course has a chance but he's slipping and not so inspiring anyway. Huck is on the rise and has been doing it with a pittance of cash.

The only way we are going to be able to overcome the media elite who have been telling us who we are going to vote for since Bob Dole, the only way we are going to stop them is if we get behind one of the so-called "2nd tier" candidates.

If you have read the allegations of Huckabee being a fiscal liberal, please take the time to go to youtube.com and watch him address these allegations in perspective.

God Bless.

I too was a Hunter man, but now I am supporting Mike Huckabee. Be careful on this site there are some paid hit men on here that love to ambush Huckabee supporters. They are unwilling to check out the source to see they are spreading rumors and half-truths. He really is a powerful leader.

Your line of reasoning is only conjecture ignoring the obvious fact no primaries have occurred. It is ludicrous to state the outcome of an event before the event has happened. This is especially true with the GOP race so wide open. It also reflects the same sacrifice your principles to win at all costs mentality that has caused the GOP to ride the slippery slope towards the socialist left at the expense of what once the Republican party's conservative base. Ironically the socialist Democrats have not sacrificed their socialist principles. A fact ignored by Republicans.

DUH....NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

The most precious thing I own as an American citizen is my vote...

I’m a Christian and I’m careful about who I give my vote to...

So I will NOT be voting for Huckabee...

I’m taking my grandkids to the BEE Movie next week, but I’m not voting for HuckaBEE

I agree that Huckabee is a fine speaker, and he knows the right things to say, but he comes with a lot of baggage. The guy is not a conservative. So if one is not a conservative, he may be one’s guy.

But don’t give me another slickster who can pull the wool over the eyes of all the sheeple again, like the last two presidents. At least GHWB revealed his dedication to The New World Order, and deserted his read my lips declaration, so he didn’t make it the second time around.

I am more concerned with what a man will do once in office than in the snake charming it may take to get him there. Past behavior is a good indication of future behavior.

If people don’t thoroughly research the candidates before endorsing or voting, they will once again get the president they deserve, and we all will lose.

Truth is truth. And everyone is entitled to hearing the truth. If they refuse it, they do it at their own peril, but, unfortunately, if enough of them refuse it, the entire country suffers.

Mike Huckabee destroyed the Republican party in Arkansas when he was governor, according to Arkansas Republicans. He is no conservative.

Powerful leaders are capable of leading where we dare not go.

I rest my case. Seriously, take a second look without the bias. Truly listen to those you disagree with, and read others opinion. We are not all uninformed and stupid.

I agree that everyone should research the candidates before voting. I did and I hope that those who have read things about Huckabee will take the time to go and view the many interviews with Huckabee where he substantively answer such acusations. That's all I am hoping for. I think you will find him to be a genuine man of God and not a "slickster". He's not just a good orator; his answers are quite cogent in my opinion. I just hope that of all people - Giuliani is not the nominee because if he is - I am done with the Republican party after being a Republican all of my life. Respectfully - to all here. Arb

But anyone who disagrees with you is biased and therefore by implication is stupid. Your statement is replete with hypocrisy.

You might just want to go to the Huckabee website and see how many of the Republican leaders from Arkansas are endorsing Mike Huckabee, instead of taking one womens opinion. That is if you are interested in the truth. Hmmm, I wonder.

You are a trip. I did not say or imply any thing of the such. You just don’t want to look at it from another perspective. I am cool with that.

Without the bias? You mean without intelligent reasoning considering the facts? LOL! I have looked long and hard at your candidate, David, and I find him seriously wanting.

Huckabee is charming, and he is a master at presenting himself exactly as he thinks people want to receive him.
There is a raft of information on the man available to us here on Free Republic.

Hucababee is not so "liberal"

He never met a tax increase he didn't like, wants to tax-subsidize the college educations of the children of illegal aliens, and you say he isn't liberal?

Well, you have made my point. You have the talking points of the Mitt Romney campaign, though you might not know that, I don’t know. And, the club for growth would not have ever endorsed Ronald Regan for the same reasons they don’t like Huckabee. There is another side to this story and you can ignore it is you want to. I choose not to. And I am not sure you gain anything by listing FR as you only source. There are people on here that have dedicated themselves so much to one candidate that they trash them all.

No, you either assume I haven't looked at Huckabee's history as Governor or are in such a state of denial that anyone who disagrees is wrong. You are applying the very biased you accuse those who have an opposing opinion. You wouldn't be making accusations based on incorrect assumptions if you were "cool with it" and that certainly isn't cool.

Duncan Hunter is a cosponsor of The Fair Tax and he is against illegal immigration.
