As I’ve said before, if the American people considered illegal immigration to be the most important issue facing our country, then your candidate or Tancredo wouldn’t be stuck in the low single digits in national polls. Even fruit loop Ron is polling better than your guy.

Two things are true..There won't be a mass expulsion of illegals AND there won't be a mass amnesty.

The American people have had enough and we've finally reached the saturation point of so called tolerance. Case in point, we made it clear to GWBush that we would have nothing to do with his "comprehensive immigration reform", aka "amnesty".

We're starting to seriously enforce the laws against hiring illegals.

It's becoming more uncomfortable for them to work out in the open. Jobs aren't as plentiful and the real estate market has tanked.

We simply cut off their incentives to work and live ILLEGALLY in this country.

If Rudy Dalton McRombee did not see the writing on the wall, they wouldn’t trying to ape Hunter and Tancredo now would they.

This morning Townhall.com sent me a Huckabee pitch: "Faith, Family, and Freedom," with nary a word about where Nannymesty Mike stands specifically on any of the issues.

My answer was short: "Slickabee, no thanks."

Focus on the Family founder Dr. James Dobson is denying a report that claims he’s poised to endorse former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee for the Republican presidential nomination. The pro-family icon says it’s just another example of media accusations about him that are “phony-baloney, wrong, and made up out of whole cloth.”

On Friday an anonymous writer for The American Spectator published a web article that suggested Dobson was set to endorse Huckabee within the next ten days at a rally in Iowa, “followed by a bus tour across the state, and an appearance by Huckabee on Dobson’s radio show.” The writer quoted an unnamed source who contends Dobson’s motivation for the endorsement is to “reassert” his position as “the leader of the evangelical and social conservative movement in America,” and “leave no doubt that he’s in charge.”

On his radio program today, Dr. Dobson said the report is just one of many “wild speculations and rumors” about him “that are thrown out there as though they were truth with a capital T.” He also noted that he has never endorsed a presidential candidate in a primary, and said if he were to make an endorsement it would be “later in the campaign when the situation has clarified itself.”

“I know Mike Huckabee personally. I like him; we talk on the phone — and I don’t mean to be disparaging to him at all,” said Dobson. “It’s just I can’t do that [issue an endorsement], and I’m not able to do that at this time. Secondly, it’s illegal for a non-profit organization to coordinate with a candidate — you can’t do that.”

Dobson also dismissed the notion that he is starting a third party, and criticized conservative radio talk-show host Rush Limbaugh for giving credence to that claim.

As for the writer of the report, who is identified by the Spectator as “The Prowler,” Dobson does not mince words. “He’s so off-the-wall here. And yet because it’s in [the website of] The American Spectator, a respected conservative journal, ... then it will be picked up, it will be everywhere,” he observes. “My board of directors will hear it; my constituents will hear it; and who knows who else will believe this? I’m telling you, it’s not true and never has been.”

Former Family Research Council president Ken Connor said recently that Dobson, current FRC president Tony Perkins, and conservative leader Paul Weyrich would rather be powerful kingmakers than “stand on principle when they should have, and they’ve lost credibility with their people.” Dobson, who says he has not spoken to the former FRC president in at least three years, chided Connor for trying to “psychoanalyze” him.

“I’m pretty much where you are at except that I am outraged because I think the dbm was instrumental in keeping Hunter off the air as much as possible, and without buko bucks he never really had a chance”

Never had a chance, dammit.
