Actually it appears that swing voters like the fact that Fred is not being courted by Dobson and Robertson. They view those religious nutcases as well...nutcases.

Where your belief that life begins at conception will lead you is that contraception should be made illegal. Americans will not support that. Like it or not.

Apparently not. From their own pdf

That should be right up NRTL's alley enough for them to support somebody like Duncan Hunter, a true and consistent pro-lifer.

Thank you Pm. I just got done reading a hilarious poll that only 40% of Republicans view FDT as conservative.

But the funny part was the same poll said Republicans thought Romney was more conservative!

BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH....HeHeHe...!!!!

Don’t bother me if all you have are personal insults in lieu of intelligent and honest dialog. Piss off.

Fred does. He’s picking up the pace. He’ll be fine.

FYI, Foxnews just confirmed that NRTL is going to endorse FRed.

It is amazing how much conservatism you can buy for 50 million dollars...

What does he need to do, cross his eyes and let his tongue hang out of his mouth?
The man is thoughtful, pragmatic and not a lifelong politician. But,he has extensive political experience as well as real life experience. He understands that there is life out of the political arena.
He’s a very smart man who’s head is squarely on his shoulders.

He unequivicollay stated that he now believes that life begins at conception

That just makes it all the more troubling that he opposes making abortion a crime. He knows that the fetus is an innocent human life, but he doesn't want it's God-given right to live to be protected by law. That's downright evil.

And if he was a draw, they would. They want to win, it is the only way to support their cause, otherwise what is the point. It is politics and that is the way it works. Be of good cheer, Fred is a good man to carry this banner too.

Again with the punishment before it’s a crime bit. Lets get rid of abortion first, then we can toss mothers and daughters into jail and make you happy...

This is good news.

It appears more and more like Fred would be the best bet for a 'consensus' conservative--which could UNITE the Party while ENERGIZING the base--BOTH of which will be required to beat Hillary!!!

If they threw their support behind a Duncan Hunter, it would draw more needed votes toward him.

While this isn't as bad an endorsement as Pat Robertson's insane endorsement of Rudy Julie-Annie, they could have chosen better. It's still the primary with zero votes cast, and the time to choose the very best is right now.

If Fred wins the nomination, then they could have endorsed him at that point.

If this rumor turns out to be true, it would really surprise me.

The NRLC gave Thompson a very low 33% pro-life rating for his record in the 107th Congress. His lifetime average rating from the NRLC was only 66% - a very poor showing.

He opposes the Human Life Amendment which is a cornerstone of the NRLC's pro-life agenda.

And he was one of the strongest Senators pushing through the McCain-Feingold-Thompson CFR legislation which was one of the things that the NRLC fought strongest against in recent years.

Dr. Jack Willke, the founder of the National Right to Life Council and the father of the pro-life movement also chose not to endorse Thompson, but to endorse Romney instead.

All of these things make it difficult for me to believe that the NRLC would endorse Thompson. This rumor may turn out to be true, but it would surprise me if it were so.

How long until the Thompson haters start bashing NRL?

Not long! Rather than first conquering Normandy, some have a mentality akin to going directly from lend-lease to parachuting the entire Allied forces over Berlin (and questioning the patriotism/resolve of anyone who questions that strategy). (in this analogy, 'Operation Romney' is holding ground, and 'Operation Giuliani' is retreating)

"Fred Thompson is insufficiently pure! Overturning Roe v. Wade is not enough - in the name of absolute moral purity, we should only support someone who will be rejected by most female voters. Forget reality - electoral seppuku clearly will save the most lives."
