I guess James Dobson is going to send the NRL a plague of locus.

Not long! Rather than first conquering Normandy, some have a mentality akin to going directly from lend-lease to parachuting the entire Allied forces over Berlin (and questioning the patriotism/resolve of anyone who questions that strategy). (in this analogy, 'Operation Romney' is holding ground, and 'Operation Giuliani' is retreating)

"Fred Thompson is insufficiently pure! Overturning Roe v. Wade is not enough - in the name of absolute moral purity, we should only support someone who will be rejected by most female voters. Forget reality - electoral seppuku clearly will save the most lives."

This is the only pro-life endorsement worth a damn. If anyone has done anything at a volunteer level with the prolife movement, they know about NRTL.

The othere endorsements...Robertson is seen as a lunatic and Weyrick is beltway lite, for these guys to look the other way on these 2 pro abort candidates voting records is an ABSOLUTE DISGRACE.

“How long until the Thompson haters start bashing NRL?’

Astute comment, and I wonder the same. On the flip side, I wonder how many Thompson supporters would have bashed NRL if it had of endorsed another candidate. The emotional fervor here is starting to get scary and a little tiresome.

I don’t “hate” Fred Thompson. I was open to supporting him.

BEFORE he came out against constitutionally protecting marriage between a man and a woman.

And BEFORE this past weekend, when he came out against constitutionally protecting prenatal life in all 50 states.

Presumably, Fred supports the federal Constitutional amendment that outlawed slavery rather than leave it a matter of “states rights” (i.e., federalism).

Whatever argument he would use to justify violating sacrosanct “federalism” regarding slavery, also applies to the protection of life and marriage.

Since in the past, NRTL has required candidates to support a Human Life Amendment, and Fred does not, it’s clear NRTL has compromised its own core values, something no group should ever do for the sake of any politician.

I don’t hate Thompson and I won’t be bashing him.
If he is the obvious candidate to vote for to keep the rats out, I’ll vote for him. I won’t throw away my vote.
IMHO, I believe Duncan Hunter would bring more of what the USA needs to the job.
I think Hunter would try to reverse the issues that are killing America. He probably wouldn’t be very successful, but it would be interesting.
I don’t think much will change under Thompson.
