Geez... didn’t you talk to her before you were married?
I find it hard to believe that she could hide such a belief system.
Looooooooooooooong story. Turned out she had a lot to hide. Wasn’t her fault though, but she couldn’t drop the “fault” at the time understandably...her Mother. After the divorce, she did finally get the picture and dropped her Mother from her life. She did well after that, but the damage to our relationship was done.
Second wife, I made a point of getting to know the family of which she came. First wife had no family other than her very alcoholic, Queen of the local Bar(s) Mother whom I met finally after we were married.
What can I say other than I goofed up.
