That explains a lot. H! needs to hire them.
The technical term is BS Artist...
What they do is rewrite newswire copy they buy from AP, Reuters, etc., so their anchors won’t be reading the exact same copy as a competing network. They also steal and rewrite newspaper and magazine stories. Broadcast copy is set in all capital letters, has pauses in it to take a breath, and has a phonetic spelling of certain words the broadcaster may not know how to pronounce like “HEM-ER-OYD.” Broadcast copy is a script that the “broadcast journalist”—actually an actor trained, made-up and costumed to portray a journalist—reads in front of a camera.
It is decidedly so.
It’s worse than that! It means Katie Couric will have to write her on-line “Katie’s Notebook,” a personal, on-line journal of Katie’s innermost thoughts of todays top stories.
Previously it has been written by professional news writers, one of whom got fired for plagiarizing from a web-log.
It’s only logical cBS newswriters would follow the Writers’ Guild out. They both write fiction.
Oh, no! Where will we get the latest breaking fake-but-accurate stories from now?
So what happens if they do strike? Will Katie Couric just sit and stare into the camera for thirty minutes?
Good evening. I'm Katic Couric.
CBS news writters have elected to go on strike. Therefore, we're forced to report the news from other liberal sources.
This just in from the Daily Kos...George Bush has verifiable ties to Adolph Hitler... (turns head to talk to director and whispers) are you sure they're on strike?
Right. Often the video footage is bought from a news service.
And the slides.
They can always find work with pulp fiction comics.
So then the news goes into reruns, what do that show?
I thought CBS’s mission was to REPORT the News!
NOT WRITE IT....
Have they learned nothing from their prior attempts to “write” the news?
