Self-loathing has been around for a long time. There have always been individuals who have acted on feelings of disgust for themselves and for others.

At the time of the shooting, every article I read said that Finland has the highest gun ownership in Europe...

True, but after many years of PC Indoctrination, only White Westerners are “allowed” to be self-loathing.
Everyone else must have high self esteem and be proud of their race or ethnicity.
Interesting that gun ownership doesn’t correlate one way or the other with these types of shootings. Shootings in “gun free” Wash DC or Va Tech, and in high ownership Finland.
Goes back to the hackneyed phrase “guns don’t kill people, people kill people”...
