Ya don’t have much more than that to work with. Single digit. Sheesh. Pretty soon he’ll be elbowing his way into a debate. Question: If it did turn out to be Romney/Thompson, would you support that ticket? Mildly? Enthusiastically? Not asking you to negotiate defeat, just curious about you as an individual speculating on a hypothetical.

I would vote for Romney in any case, but having Thompson on the ticket with him makes it a bit more palatable. I would also welcome a Romney/Hunter ticket. If Romney chooses Huckabee I would hold my nose but still vote for them. I am very wary of Huckabee’s commitment to conservatism.
If Thompson should be VP and they indeed win, then in 8 years we might be faced with the same situation we have today. A wide open GOP race with no vice president in the running. I suspect that Fred will be too old to run for president then, especially since he has had cancer.
Be honest I don’t see that ticket. I will suppport the Republican nominee even Rudy and Romney, though I almost prefer the quick death of the republic over those two.
Odd thing is that I was mildly in favor of Mitt until I got to know him.
Needless to say I would watch him like a hawk.
I am glad it won’t come to that. I have faith and also insight into how Fred works. It will either be one of the biggest successes in modern politics or a dismal failure. Thing is we will not know until the end really, because that is the way Fred is. But he is batting 1000 on sucessful political campaigns...
