I prefer Romney/Thompson 2008.

If Romney wins the nomination, Thompson could in fact be a good veep pick. Romney needs help in the south, even in the general election, I think. Might help sugar coat what some conservative voters would feel is a bitter pill to swallow.( A squishy Northeastern Republican who belongs to a bizarre cult being the nominee.) (ps--that was a joke. sort of.)Then again I've never seen any "Anyone but Romney" slogans, and I've sure seen em about that other squishy Northeasterner.

So maybe it will come down to a Romney/Thompson ticket. Thompson's assets being leveraged by an efficient executive, uniting the GOP voters. I could see that. Would the squishy middle buy in come the general? I think the DEMs don't realize how bad their candidates are, or maybe it's just me.
