It was a nasty bacterial thing. They had to slice it open to allow the puss to drain, so they made a bigger wound. The doc said he was damn lucky they got it before it reached his knee joint.
I owe BIG TIME thanks to FReepers Tasmanianred and Ms.Behavin (both nurses) for their correct diagnosis and advice. I knew a bug bite shouldn’t be that serious, but this one WAS. They urged me to get him to the E.R. ASAP.
Oh my goodness, I did not realize it was so serious.
