"A convicted killer -- who is also a former men's basketball player -- testified Wednesday in the sexual discrimination trial of fired Fresno State women's basketball coach Stacy Johnson-Klein.

He talked about drug usage, and cover-ups.

This has come out because of a trial regarding sexual harassment. Here is the link to that:

Former Fresno State Employees Testify In Johnson-Klein Case (Third lawsuit against Fresno State)

"A convicted killer -- who is also a former men's basketball player -- testified Wednesday in the sexual discrimination trial of fired Fresno State women's basketball coach Stacy Johnson-Klein.

He talked about drug usage, and cover-ups.

In videotaped testimony, Terry Pettis said that from 2002 to 2003, men's basketball coaches told players ahead of time about upcoming drug tests -- even though those tests were supposed to be random and unannounced.

He said that allowed players to drink water to mask the presence of drugs.

He also said that players often switched urine samples during testing.

Pettis said half the team used drugs.

He also said he repeatedly used marijuana and repeatedly failed drug tests, but kept playing because "we were winning -- and nothing else mattered" to then-head coach Ray Lopes and other coaches.

Pettis was convicted of murder after his playing days at Fresno State.

Later on Wednesday, one of Johnson-Klein's former players took the witness stand and contradicted earlier testimony in the trial.

Amy Parrish told jurors that during a meeting players had with two Fresno State officials in early 2005, the players were "not in mutiny" against Johnson-Klein.

That contradicts testimony last week by Desiree Reed-Francois, one of the university officials in that meeting.

Reed-Francois -- who was then a women's sports supervisor -- had described the meeting as "a mutiny."

She also testified that "the girls were afraid" of Johnson-Klein.

Parrish denied that -- saying she never feared the coach -- and never thought her health or safety were being compromised.

But Parrish did call it "an emotional roller coaster" on the team -- and said when Adrian Wiggins became coach -- it became "a lot more stable."

I would like to see the axe fall starting at the top. Welty must go. Then, there would be hope of cleaning up the sports program and other irregularities that are routine at Fresno State.
