There is no confusion about this. Almost every one of them is all for illegal aliens.

Why do some of these people in the media seem so confused?

Purposeful confusion to blur the issue to help the RATs.

Taking all our immigrant from one source, i.e. Mexico, defeats the mechanism of diversity which has allowed prior immigrant groups to be successfully integrated into American society.

EAStern Europeans, some Asians (non-Muslims), and even other South Americans should be given an opportunity to legally come here.

We owe Mexico NADA!!!

The Democrats don’t have to take a stand on the issue because the Republicans have supported all sides of the issue in a contentious and fractured manner.

Our presidential candidates have changed that almost entirely. Listen to them. The Republican party is now the party of secure borders. In fact, our NWO Republicans did the party a favor by pushing this issue early. That made them realize they do not even have a party if they don't get on board the secure borders train. So they did.

The R's are going to lose a lot of big money contributors over this--the Chamber of Commerce R's will not tolerate a slowdown in the flow of illegals and will start contributing to D's. In fact, I believe that shift is going on right now and is showing up in the relatively better performance by the D's in fund raising.

The only good thing about this shift is that the money from former Chamber of Commerce R's will moderate the dems considerably on free-market issues.

In the long run, this shift is just reflecting a long-term shift in who each party represents. The dems have been the party of the wealthy and the underclass for a while. The R's of the middle class. Immigration will move that shift along faster.

“People are torn. They know they need immigrants (to make the economy hum), but many also fear the browning of America,” said Ken Fernandez, an assistant professor of political science at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas.

What a typical asinine comment from a political science professor. Of course it doesn’t have anything to do with economics, culture, or the rule of law. It’s all about us evil white people fearing the “browning” of America. Geesh!

Democrats don’t have a solid opinion, unless they get votes out of it.

By Chamber Rs I assume you are referring to business and corporate interests.

In the large commercial construction field there is no preference for illegals, but instead, a preference for a constrant set of laws and uniform enforcement.

If your competator breaks the law and is at risk of loss, you aren’t tempted to do likewise. If applicants can’t produce the right paperwork that is valid, you don’t hire them.

But this condition of applicants with SSN and Driver’s License ID and other I-9 documents that still turn out to be illegal is intolerable.

Additionally, the largest number of EEOC complaints filed against employers is based upon refusal for ethnic reasons and you are damned if you do and damned if you don’t.

If small business owners are irritated, it is due to lack of enforcement and lack of uniform standards that can be simply met during the hiring procedure.

And they'll all hope that Republicans are seen as shrill reactionaries.

McClatchy newspapers stands by to help make this possible.

I noticed the same thing myself. It wasn’t a surprising quote coming from a political science professor, who tend to be liberal, but it was certainly disappointing. Every problem isn’t due to racism, sexism, etc., but of course, conservatives know that.

The rule of law is vitally important to businesses. In fact, I’d argue it’s one of the fundamental responsibilities of government, to create and enforce a set of rules that protect private property and ensure a level playing field for each citizen.

Currently, small businesses that follow the law are harmed when their competitors break the law and hire less expensive illegal labor. This has hit the roofing, concrete, and other building industries especially hard.

Yet the left and many too lazy to think for themselves swallow it hook, line and sinker.

I met be about to step on some toes here, but...

I've noted that a great many of the folks on the right who believe that we need illegal immigrants to make the economy go are also either business owners or supporters of business owners. While I usually agree with this group on most things, I've also noted that they can be among the most *annoying* group on the right by far when it comes to their behavior. It's exacerbated when I do disagree with them on something, and they certainly seem to be far more accepting of illegal immigration to me than other groups on the right are.

That's just my perception of the situation, and I admit it could be completely wrong as my 'dataset' if you will is fairly small.

They have so pandered to “minorities” for so long they are slaves to them. So even though each one personally knows that illegal immigration is wrong, they cowardly refuse to so state.

Problem is if we actually arrest the people hiring the illegals, the same business interests raise hell about it.

If people start dying because of at-one-time-eradicated diseases brought in from the flow of illegal immigration; all economic bets are off. The diminshing consumer base will hurt them. Bet they never thought about that.

Where are Democrats on illegal immigration?

They're in Mexico, of course, giving footrubs to the illegals getting ready to invade the US, and telling them how to vote illegally when they get their driver's licenses.

Same place they are on every other issue - whereever their polls tell them 51% of the public is. ;)

Wrong as it pertains to immigration and we have them on the record. They don't represent where most Americans are on the issue.

That’s probably because they’ve become dependent on illegal immigration, primarily because the federal government hasn’t enforced the rule of law. It starts with a few companies that break the law, hire illegals, and increase profits. In order to compete, other companies start doing the same thing. By enforcing the law, government recreates a level playing field and ultimately creates a better business environment (the lawbreakers won’t benefit from their crimes). It won’t be easy to beat the money that is now riding on the illegals, but it’s the right thing to do for the country.

Where are Democrats on illegal immigration?

Uh, driving the vans full of illegals across the border into the U.S.?

Helping to dig tunnels under the U.S.-Mexico border?

Manufacturing fake I.D.'s?

Prosecuting border patrol agents?

Attending La Raza meetings?

So many possibilities...
