Biggest Drug Dealer in Jail Scores Probation

PORT HURON, Mich. (AP) - A former Wayne County sheriff's deputy who pleaded guilty to drug trafficking could have gotten 20 years in prison, but was sentenced to 30 months' probation instead.

He was probably cooperative with authorities on his own sources and contacts for drugs. Dopers and dealers figure this stuff out in about 10 seconds. That tends to make life insurance policies a little costly.

My neighbor, a sheriff’s deputy, told me they once had a guy in the jail that weighed in at over 400 lbs. Is this guy bigger than that?

Regardless, he was in a position of trust and used that trust to further his criminal enterprise. Thus, he shouldn’t have been sentenced lightly when others likely would have received near the maximum.

In Harris County they banned cigarettes in jail. One of the figures with the county jail said that in part they knew that the guards would sell contraband to the prisoners. At least by “prohibiting” tobacco the guards would not be facing jail time if they were caught selling contraband.

The boys in blue look out for their own. It’s just a gang with a hell of a legal staff that we pay for.
