OLYMPIA, Wash.– Police arrested more war protestors Thursday as the final shipment of equipment returning to Fort Lewis from Iraq made its way out of the Port of Olympia.

Police used pepper balls to subdue protestors in the afternoon, then arrested five people. Some who refused to move were dragged out of the way, even through standing water.

The protestors have been outside the Port for several days, blocking trucks hauling the equipment. In all, 66 people have been arrested over the past several days of protests.

"The ship got in 11 days ago. People have been coming for all 11 days, putting their bodies at risk, putting their jobs at risk, putting their schoolwork at risk. We're willing to do whatever it takes to stop the militarization of our community," said a protestor who goes by the name Kteeo.

Organizers of these war protests are planning yet more protests Friday in Seattle, Olympia and Chehalis.

A few dozen people also protested outside a Marine recruiting office at the Tacoma Mall. There were no arrests.

All this came just hours after the House of Representatives passed a $50 billion war spending bill - a quarter of what the Bush Administration wanted and with a provision to withdraw troops from Iraq by December of 2008.

President Bush has indicated he'll veto the bill.

Why do I get the feeling this is a person of indefinite gender?

I want to know what professor is involved in this. If he is encouraging students to try to block military movements, the FBI needs to pay him a visit.

I’ve got a feeling that they are less willing to sacrifice than they would have folks believe. I think the transport vehicles ought to keep moving and see how long it took the protestors to move their rear ends out of the way.

Don’t you just love the intolerance of the tolerant left?

Don’t any of them have jobs?

If only we could! Then again, the Iraqi people have had enough mindless thugs ruining their lives for far too long already.

“People have been coming for all 11 days, putting their bodies at risk, putting their jobs at risk, putting their schoolwork at risk.” WAAH!

Unlike the soldiers coming back taht put their life and limb at risk every day for over a year!

Most of them are students from Evergreen college. Remember Rachael Corrie? The student who was run over by a bulldozer in Gaza? She was an Evergreen student, too. It's an institution of higher communism and anarchy ..... the pride of Western Washington.

Don't you just love the insanity of these people? We just received a warning at work that the enviro-wackos are planning to hold protests at Lowe's, Home Depot, and Wal-Mart stores nationwide this weekend to protest the sale of cypress mulch.

I wonder what their rallying cry will be? Save the mulch!!!
