Alabama Capitol's Confederate monument vandalized

Black paint covers the face and hands of one of the statues that was defaced at the Confederate Memorial on the grounds of the Alabama Capitol on Wednesday in Montgomery. Graffiti covers the base of the Confederate Memorial. The letters and numbers "N.T. 11 11 31" are believed to be a reference to slave Nat Turner, who was hanged on Nov. 11, 1831 for starting a rebellion.

I live in Alabama, and the consensus here is that it was probably some snotty liberal white kid that did it.

I think this world has gone nuts. People do not care about things that are not theirs, do not care about their kids, do not care about spouses, other family members, strangers and animals.
I was changing channels and came across a news program. They were talking about items at graves which had been stolen. Now, that is pretty low to steal things from a grave. It was not like this when I was growing up back in the dark ages! If it were done by a kid, the parents were usually not the first to know. Someone who knew the kid usually saw it and reported to the parents who took care of the problem.

What part of the state? I am in HSV. You are probably right. Kids who do not have enough to do. If it were a kid/or kids, then they should be made to clean it up plus other areas.

These are the Dark Ages: Science replaced by ignorance and superstition via global warming, the total disregard for human life thanks to abortion and the loss of freedom thanks to the entitlement mentality.

Hey, nice to meet ya. I have lived here since 1966 after hubby graduated from MSU. He died 8 Jul 2006. Some people and I were talking this week and one guy said he did not even watch the news anymore because it was so depressing. They never report the good news.

I never thought of it that way. You are right. Those were the good ole days! I miss them especially since all of the deaths in my family since Jan. 2004.

Mississippi State or Michigan State?
I’m actually an immigrant myself....born in California, raised in California, Kentucky, and Texas before the family moved to Alabama in 1984. I’ve lived here on and off since then.

Mississippi State. I was born in a small town about 50 miles from State. Hubby went to high school here and about 15 of his classmates went to State with us. I am still in touch with a few who live here. We really, really miss him especially now during the holiday season. We miss my brother who died in May of last year, my bil who also died in July, my mother who died in Jan of this year along with an aunt who died in March of this year. It is still hard after losing my younger daughter in Jan 2004. In 38 months, I have lost 21 relatives.
