We The People Endorse Duncan Hunter in 2008
iPetitions.com ^ | 11/17/07 | SK Johnson

Posted on 11/16/2007 11:05:12 PM PST by thelastinkling

Earlier this year, the masses of this great country rose up and took a stand against a detestable amnesty bill that was heading to Congress. The PEOPLE of this country, by their patriotism and passion, helped change the direction of this country. It stands as a testament to what we can do as a people when we stand up for what we believe in.

There are many great challenges facing our country. As I write this, I am remembering the 1/3 of my generation that has been murdered thanks to Roe vs. Wade. I am reminded of our out of control trade deficit. I am reminded of the toll illegal immigration is taking on our economy, and the hundreds of human beings who are sold into slavery over the American/Mexican border. I am reminded of an out of a Congress that is out of control in spending, with more and more of our freedoms being threatened. As the 2008 election comes around, we are at a place where we either do or die. Do we stand up for what we believe in? Or do we allow appeasement to rule once again, leading us further towards despair and defeat?

At the time of this writing, the National Right to Life has endorsed a candidate that has openly expressed his opposition to a Constitutional ban on abortion. Pat Robertson has endorsed the most socially liberal Republican candidate. The Homeschool Legal Defense Association has endorsed a candidate that supported anti-homeschool legislation in Arkansas and supports the big public education platform of the National Education Association. Bob Jones has endorsed a candidate that has flip-flopped on every important issue. Although there are many respectable qualities about these organizations and individuals, they are unfortunately holding up Republican candidates that will either lose because of their lack of conservative credentials (placing Hilary Clinton in the White House), or who will falter on upholding conservative principles if elected.

We the people have decided to stand up again.

We the people have decided to make our voice heard.

We the people will not bow to a small elite who thinks they can run our country better than we can ourselves.

We the people are standing up for a candidate who has proven his commitment to the important issues of our time including abortion, border security, American jobs, keeping our country safe from bad trade deals, national security, and leaving behind a country more independent of its government.

We the people endorse Congressman Duncan Hunter 2008

It’s morning again in America one more time.

Visit http://www.ipetitions.com/petition/DuncanHunter2008/ to sign our petition, and join your voice among the people who have decided to endorse Duncan Hunter for President.

Keep on Hunting,

SK Johnson

If you believe Hunter has all of these qualifications; why don’t you vote for him as President?

A vice presidency would quickly create such a base.

Team Hunter with Thompson and you have the perfect storm. Hillary and Co. wouldn't be able to come up for air.

Oh I like Hunter very very much. However, he has no traction and, quite frankly, he would get munched by the Beast in the general election.

I am for whoever can beat Hillary. Call that unprincipled (there is an argument to be made that it is unprincipled), however, the disaster that would ensue with the Beast in Chief is to awful to consider.

I will run to the voting booth to the one who I think can beat her and hope the issues will be in good hands with the conservatives in Congress...that is asking for alot, but as I see it, that is all we have.

***On the contrary, anyone who is not truly conservative will get munched by the beast. All of the frontronners neglect to consider that the MSM has been essentially playing nice. As soon as the GOP guy gets nominated, regardless of who it is, the MSM will turn on him. It’s their nature. The trick is to get the media into such a frenzy that they jump the shark, they pull a Dan Rather because they can no longer see straight. The model for this strategy is Bill Sali, Proposition 187 in California, and Ronald Reagan. The media went nuts and loudly predicted failure, but all won big. When the media starts saying things like, “anyone who wants Prop 187 to pass must be a racist” or “Reagan will be responsible for all the schools closing down”, then mainstream America recoils. All the frontrunners are running on the hopes that the media will portray them in a positive light. Only Duncan is running with the knowledge and a strategy that this will not be the case.

Look people...primaries are in place for a purpose. Vote in the primaries, and if Duncan hasn't been wiped off the slate by the big money status-quo, vote for him in the primaries. After that, vote for the lesser of two evils.

VOTE in the PRIMARIES!

Anyone criticizing Thompson for saying the polls will change while believing Hunter is going anywhere is dealing with hope over reality.

Admit it: If Hunter were in Thompson's position, and saying the same things, you certainly wouldn't be saying you hope he'll drop out, you'd be shouting from the rooftops. Hunter's been in the race a lot longer than Thompson, yet he's going nowhere.

Hunter's a good man. He's not going to win the nomination or be president.

Nice post.

I am just offering my advice to you to take anything posted to you by Kevmo with a huge grain of salt.

Basically, he has so misunderstood the Intrade political futures market so utterly that virtually everything he says about them is worthless.

"We the people..."

I don't recall being asked by these folks what THIS person thinks.

The arrogance would be annoying if it weren't so embarrassing.

YOU'RE LOL?

Look at me! Duncan Hunter can be President in the same sense that I can be. In my imagination. LOL!

Duncan Hunter, Tom Tancredo, Ron Paul, and John Cox have one thing in common. Not one of them will be the nominee.

If you are in favor of a federal government with the power to demand that private citizens or business go into (or out of) certain businesses, then you are no conservative.

You are a big-government statist. The only thing that distinguishes you from a “Democrat”, “Socialist” or “liberal” is the use to which you would put that big-government power.

Who was it that who said that “A government powerful enough to do everything for you is powerful enough to do anything to you?” Clue: It wasn’t Duncan Hunter.

My guess is that Thompson takes every southern state with the exception of Florida, and then selects a Veep from one of the other nominees not-named-Rudy.

His son is running for that seat.

You should take your own advice.

And you don’t have a clue to what I said.

Oh, I know exactly what you said. Here it is for you to read:

One thing Franklin Roosevelt did right in WWII was to put Kaiser into business to compete against United Steel who at that time had only 40% of their employees but surprisingly were making huge profits. In order to have more steel and businesses compete and add jobs to the market; Roosevelt called the head of Kaiser in and told them flat out they were going into the steel business thereby giving a boost to the economy in competition and jobs. Roosevelt, believe it or not; was not all that liberal or socialist as people would like you to believe.

Isn't that what you said?

It appears to me that you don't recognize statism (socialism) when it is right there in front of you.

Now I know that you went off on a rant against big goverment/big business etc. but I'll take you very specific approval of roosevelt's action above with more weight than a pro-forma statement against the "military-industrial complex" to use Eisenhower's term.

Moreover, you are a Duncan Hunter supporter. He isn't a small government guy, either.

Why would you say that? It’s right on your home page; paragraph 2.

Go look for yourself.

He can’t say with 100% certainty that he isn’t still in the game at some level, but when he can, he will do whatever is the right thing to do.

I believe you're right, though I hope he and Tancredo figure out their games are over early enough to help along the causes they promote.
